An ale brewed with a ridiculous amount of pureed raspberries (over a ton of 'em!). Fort has a Belgian-style base, then we follow a similar fermentation process to the one we use on our other super-high ABV beers, 120 Minute IPA and World Wide Stout.

Big, bright raspberry presence up front that quickly transitions to a more bitter cherry cough syrup character. Boozy. Belgian spice throughout and a feel that suggests some wheat in the malt bill. It's pretty syrupy and concentrated mid-palate, but avoids being cloying thanks to the bright start and relatively dry Belgian finish.

The story of this big beer is the battle between really nice raspberry wit flavors (think DFH Red & White on steroids) and not-so-nice bittersweet, medicinal notes. Ultimately a very interesting beer to sip through if you can get a decent bargain (picked up this bottle for $8).

Vintage 2015
~6 months since bottle date

Appearance- Pours an orange, light amber color, transparent. Half finger thick, fizzy, slight off white colored head, dissipates quickly. Tons of sticky alcohol legs cling to glass.

Aroma- Tart, juicy raspberries, jammy. Sour apples, cherries, lemon, little bit of spiciness. Hints of fusel alcohol.

Taste- Raspberry puree, tart and juicy, subtle sweet maramalade. Tart cherries, cranberries, sweet honey, hints of spicy apple. Hot fusel alcohol notes linger with raspberries.

Feel- Medium feel, slightly syrupy but far less than you would think given the ABV. Moderate carbonation, lots of booziness.

Overall- Raspberry aroma and flavors are very authentic, wonderful fruity tartness with hints of sweetness. All sorts of other subtle fruit flavors come into play, adds a nice complexity. Beer is very hot at this age, all sorts of boozy notes but nothing that detracts from what the beer is. Well done for what its intended to be.

Reddish pour with a hint of a head. Smell is straight raspberries and alcohol, almost like a Swedish Fish. Taste follows, but the raspberry flavor is more tart, than sweet. But the boozy taste is overpowering. Finishes a bit tart, more booze. Couldn't drink more than a few sips of it.

Nice looking sunset color, smell is fruity raspberries, wheat and booze. Taste immediately makes you pucker similar to a New Glarus Raspberry tart, not nearly as sweet though. Very boozy. Worth trying a few sips, but i would struggle to finish off more than a couple ounces

Poured from a bottle into a tulip.

L: Pours a semi-opaque dark amber color... hints of ruby red as I hold it up to the light. Thin tannish head, passable lacing.

S: Booze and raspberries.

T/F: Strong and fruity... alcoholic warmth from the get-go that lasts through the entire sip. Strong raspberry flavor... fruity... a bit funky. Mild to moderate carbonation... better as it warms as the Belgian yeasts add a little complexity. Finish is surprisingly dry.

O: A really tasty fruit beer... boozy as heck and definitely a sipper. Not one I'll be having regularly but a pretty cool beer from Dogfish Head. Well worth a visit.
