Tried a bottle that had been cellared for over a year......the combination of the abv, belgium yeast, and raspberries did not work for me. Typically, I like raspberry beers.....but the fruit came off as very medicinal and overpowering.

Had this beer with about 11-12mo. age on it. Nice big beer with the rasberries very noticed. I think the balance of hops, sweetness and fruit work pretty well. It actually feels a little lighter than 18% and is not that boozy at all. Would guess it to be at 12%. Maybe because it had a year of age on it this beer worked well. Not sure, but it was decent.

This is a big beer. No doubt. Great sweet aroma. Tons of raspberry favor and lots if booze. Definitely a sipper. Gonna take my time with this one.

A - Pours a murky amber with a one finger off white head. Nice amount of soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is raspberry and alcohol.

T - The taste is sweet raspberry, tart cherries and cranberries with a very strong alcohol presence.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a harsh finish.

O - The raspberries provide a nice balance of sweet and tart but are overpowered by the heavy booziness.

Slight chill haze, or maybe there's some miniature floaters in there, of an amber-copper hue with a minimal, fizzy tan blanket.

Smells like raspberry spiced apple mead, with that little round, warming honey or wine-like heat, with maybe a little cherry cough syrup following through. As it warms, it just turns to straight jet fuel.

Taste is somewhat cloyingly sweet at first, but cut with hot hot heat. I get tart raspberry and cherry, again it's a bit too close to cough syrup. There's some Belgian malt and yeast, and a bit of apple cider vinegar.

Mildly frothy, but pretty harsh, with the rim of the glass getting really sticky. The yeast may be a little bitter, but overall this is sweet and hot.

I had no idea this was 18%!? Excellent beer. Very smooth to drink. The fruitiness adds the right amount of bitterness to drink the high ABV beer
