Style: Leipzig Gose

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.90%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
SeaQuench Ale is our session sour quencher made with lime peel, black lime and sea salt. It’s a citrusy-tart union of three German styles of beer blissfully brewed into one. We begin by brewing a straightforward Kolsch with lots of wheat and Munich Malt, then we brew a salty Gose with black limes, coriander and our sea salt. We follow it all up with a citrusy-tart Berlinerweiss made with lime juice and lime peel. All three beers are then blended together in the fermentation tank to create this German hybrid.

12oz bottle- poured into a tulip.

Apperance- Poured hazy with a small head. Nice golden color to the pour

Smell- Lime definitely the most prominent thing in this one however there is a slight salty (salt water) aroma

Taste- Again the lime is the star of this beer. The lime is right out front with a slight tartness that is mellowed rather quickly to allow the sea salt to shine through. It has a malty finish that carries through the end of the sip.

Mouthfeel- not much to say except it is medium body and aggressive carbonation.

Overall- I wish this beer wasn't so expensive because I could drink it all day. Unlike most sours this beer doesn't destroy your palate with that dry aftertaste. If you see this in stores and haven't tried it I highly suggest drinking some.

Sam Calagione you can once again take my money!

Pours like Mead, the color is a hazy shade of summer and the head quickly dissipates .
The smell is bright with dusty citrus and a little bit of wild flower.
Very little carbonation in the glass but plays on the tongue.
Complex, a lot of flavors all at once, lime, salt, touch of black pepper with a nice clean dry finish.
you can definitely pick up the German origins of this beer.
No lacing on the glass at all.
Sour comes on near the end of the beer.
Its a very good beer, easy to drink and worth a try.
I have a feeling this is something the "ladies" would also enjoy.

12 ounce bottle - $2.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Bottled On 07/22/16.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, hay-hued body. No head formation.

Smell: Salted dehydrated limes with lightly grainy dough and a bit of wheat tied with a lactic ribbon.

Taste: Lightly malty, a bit of wheat underneath. Moderately salty, lightly sweet and honeyish. Tangy, tart with a moderate amount of lime (and lemon), also some far subtler hints of pear and apple. Earthy coriander, hint of herb. Good lactic quality. Rather crisp, lime-landed finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Pretty tasty and one I'd eagerly revisit.
