Poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: Hazy pale yellow, like pinapple juice, thin white head

Smell: Tropical fruits, citrus, pinapple

Taste: Fruity sweetness at first, then some wheat and bitterness

Mouthfeel: Crisp, sharpy, a lot of carbonation

Overall: A good IPA from dogfish head. A lot of fruity flavors. Wound have again

16 oz. Pint can. Brewed with whole leaf, liquefied, pelletized and powdered hops!

Pours out to be a slightly hazy golden color with some very subtle copper highlights. A very active liquid, good carbonation that creates and maintains a rather robust, all-white foamy dome. Hangs on for a bit, spreads out to minimal bubbly coverage and a solid ring. Minor lacing in places.

The hop fueled aroma is simple awesome. Very well-rounded...well rounded is not something you find too much these days, especially if you live on the east coast. Most of the "noses" that are of the New England style are usually dominated by juicy, tropical fruits. This certainly has a very delightful fruity hop scent, featuring: sweet red berries and a light, pineapple and tropical fruit punch thing. Plenty of earthy and herbalized aroma's as well, dry but sour wheat style malt, tangy and sweet fruit combo, light floral tones...all in all, very complex and very stanky!!

The taste is simply awesome!! Soo well rounded, even more so than the nose. Ultra crispy, snappy malty textures and taste bring in a neutral, yet very tasty golden wheat and dense wet earth style tones. A very delightful malt backbone. The hops, man...them hops!! Oh man...so deep, soo complex with rich, dry earthy flavor's, leveled off by a truely excellent fruity profile, pineapple, banana, red berries, grapefruit dryness and bitterness in the finish. The mishmosh of hop ingredients certainly uped the level of complexity and added multiple levels of hoppy flavor. I LOVE how the hop flavor has every excellent hop aspect in the taste. It's not just mango or pineapple driven, but a multicolored variety of hop tones and levels. Rich herbs that seem earthy and dry, sweet and tropical fruits, slightly bitter grapefruit style completes the trifecta.

I find this to have just as much hoppy charecter as many of my favorite New England style ipa's that are being brewed, including Treehouse, Trillium and the Alchemist. Easily one of tge vety best DFH ipa's I've had in a few years. This one isva hoppy masterpiece. High grade enjoyability.

Honestly impressed! Bitter from post-boil but no grassy grossness. Another cool idea from DogFishHead.

Had on draft at a dogfish alehouse. Spongey head dissipated to a filmy circle quickly, but a nice thick lacing clung to the glass from top to bottom. Nice light citrusy nose hinting of malt. A malty tasting IPA with medium to light bitterness. Mouthfeel is interesting, starting with a rich creaminess on the draw splitting into a crisp, crackery lightness immediately upon clearing the palate. Lingering floral hops breaking piney on the finish. Very good; hits the mark style-wise.

Traditional but well-done IPA. Classic good color, head lacks a smidge. Aroma has some bright PNW hops (simcoe, mosaic) smoothed out by a more floral hop that helps balance but never coalesces. Taste & body, again, are very old-school west coat, some alpha acid bitterness, grapefruit, etc. Not too heavy or bitter.

Poured into a clear tall glass. Has a hazy banana color. Good head retention, moderate carbonation, little lacing.

Aroma consists of many tropical notes. I smell passion fruit, mangoes, pineapple, and tangerines. Herbal elements to it as well.

Taste has a big tropical palette. Piney. Tastes of lemongrass, pineapple, tangerines, cherry, cantaloupe, melon, mango, passion fruit, raspberries, a caramel malt, lime zest, and sort of doughy malt as well. Has a mild, somewhat chalky and bitter aftertaste.

Feels chunky and smooth.

Golden color with a thick thin head with good retention.
Delicious tropical aroma with notes of passion fruit, mango, lemongrass, mild pine, stone fruit, tangerines, pineapple and honey bread.
Original flavor with notes of tangerines, pine, mango, passion fruit, lychees, lemongrass, white wine, lemon and cantaloupe melon. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium body with perfect carbonation of tiny bubbles.
This was one the best America IPA I ever had. This is well under rated. This is packed with original tropical and citrusy hop flavors. Subtle differences, but material results. I guess inefficiently just using post-boil hops on different varieties paid off. They should continue to invest on this.

The BA says discontinued, but I'm drinking one brewed 10-19-2017. Not my favorite IPA by a long shot, and not with the $15/6 pack price tag. However, it's worth a try if you can get A bottle.
