2011 bottle poured into a snifter.

A - Pours a little darker orange with a soft off-white head that lingers.

S - No surprise, hops. It's a complex hop character though, with some soothing citrus hop rounding the back end, and piney notes stinging the aroma up front. Some notes of roasted barley and caramel too.

T - Quite the hop punch in the mouth. Oddly, the first thing I taste real quick is a nice sweet citrus hop flavor, and then just a punching of piney hops. Reminds me almost of peppers where you get that taste, and then the heat comes up afterwards. A quite delicious backbone from the malt and barley. Very full and well rounded taste.

M - If it wasn't for the massive amount of hops, I would consider this quite drinkable. The hops definitely weigh heavy on the mouth. The carbonation is good, and the flavors continually pop.

O - I expected just a big hop punch which I got, but didn't expect that smooth silky backbone that made this very enjoyable to drink. I could see where aging would be interesting, but I prefer just that massive hop character. I would for sure seek this out again fresh.
