On tap at the brewery.

A - Amber red colored pour with thick white lacing and light carbonation.

S - Slight red grape skin aroma with some metallic presence.

T - Red grape skin, slight paper taste, and finishes with a bitter wine character.

M - Medium body.

O - "Unique", that's all I can say.

Sixty-One (61) brewed by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, with an ABV of 6.50% This American IPA pours out a nice deep copper brown color with a small off white head. Really digging the copper color of this brew. There is a decent amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with hop bitterness, and earthy grains and malts. You also pick up on some mild sweetness in the smell as well. So far this is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You first pick up on the hoppy bitterness, mixed with a light sweetness. Then the earthy grains and malts tie it all together. There is a lot going on in this brew. The body of Sixty-One (61) is a solid medium. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a super nice balance to it. This American IPA would go nice with a dinner, or a cool spring day. The mouth feel is Bold, Hoppy, Clean, Smooth, and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give Sixty-One (61) a 4.25 out 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, did a real nice job with this brew.

Dissapointing and nothing like an IPA, although the concept of using grapes is interesting.
The color reminds me of a rosé with a slightly brownish tint. Little head.
The aftertaste is dissapointing - lingering bitterness without much flavor. The fruitiness is hard to pinpoint. It lacks body and complexity.

Sorry for the negative review, but I would not recommend this beer.

I think I like this better than plain old 60-minutes...

The beer pours a reddish color akin to something like a strawberry or cherry soda, but there is nothing truly sweet about this beer. The head has some staying power and there is good lacing down the glass. The odor had a twinge of raspberry that didn't quite blend well in my nose with the strong hoppy character. Mouthfeel was surprisingly medium-bodied, had a slight creamy texture to it even though it was heavily carbonated. I did enjoy the taste - raspberries, strong hops, it worked better as a fluid. This is definitely a good, solid beer.

Had on-tap at the Main Street Pub in Bally. Poured into a goblet

L: Clear rose colored pour. 1 finger of white head. Solid lacing.

S: Muted hops... mild citrus... red wine/grape must.

T/F: Not a lot here. Smelled solid... but the hops were quite muted. Light citrus and a bit of pine. Not overly bitter... more tart. Some oak character, grape must, and some red wine notes. Light in body. Tasted almost watered down.

O: Dogfish Head does some great beers. This wasn't one of them. An interesting idea but just didn't work for me. Sort of a tart dull IPA. Looks/smells interesting. Not much to drink and wouldn't be interested in revisiting.

12oz bottled 9/29/17 poured into a DFH branded teku glass at fridge temp 6.5% ABV. The beer pours bright red tinted amber with rose tinted head. The head recedes to a thin ring and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is part grape, part citrus hops. It's pleasant, but not very strong. The taste is very wine-like with a barely tart grape note up front, transitioning to a hopped dry red wine finish. Mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied, sharply carbonated, and dry with the exclusion of some hop oil. There is a lasting IPA bitterness after swallowing. Overall, unique and enjoyable.
