great brewery tour, as you get to see the legendary palo santo tanks. staff is friendly, beer is tasty (although just the regular offerings). lots of unique merchandise if you want to pick some up.

I recommend you also drive down to the beach (in the off-season) to the brewpub to try some experimental beers and/or vintage stuff.

This was the first brewery I visited as a legal adult. So needless to say it's got a special place in my heart. The place has gone through at least 3 expansions since I went the first time. All of which made the place more and more impressive. I have always enjoyed going back here to see what was new and how they were moving forward in the brewing world. When and if you're in the Delaware area it's definitely a place to spot in and see.

Gets good marks for those wishing to try most of the DFH beers that otherwise easily available many places. Usual gift shop. Tasting area is large but largely nondescript. For people seeking to explore new beers or experimental beers...it is essentially boring...don't waste your time. Better chances at the Rehoboth brew pub. Despite well deserved reputation for the "off centered" and very high quality beers...there is a bit of the Stone "corporate" thing going on here. Guess we all have to grow up someday.

Coming from the Midwest, and even after relocating to New England, I never thought of Delaware as a beachy, touristy type of place. Even driving through it, it seemed like a collection of absurdly large bridges and tiny, sad little skylines gleaming off in the distance. But now, having re-relocated to the Mid-Atlantic, it turns out that Delaware and the weird side of Maryland and the Philly side of Jersey are all essentially the same place, and they are touristy as hell.

The brewery in Milton is about a 15 drive from the brewpub and shop, which sit off the boardwalk in Rehoboth. The brewery is situation more like a regular, large craft production brewery, tucked away in a field adjacent to a really cute residential neighborhood. Milton is pretty quiet.

The brewery is one of the largest craft facilities I've ever been to. The taproom is huge and contains a special bar that's just for growlers. They don't serve food inside but there's usually a food truck out front, along with a patio area and a bags game.

We didn't do the tour, but we did have a few pints in the taproom. The selection was wide and pours were reasonably sized and priced. They also offered a handful of of vintage beers dating back about 4 years--nothing in particular caught my eye, but that's a nice touch.

You don't need me to describe Dogfish Head's beers to you, right?

The vibe was deeply Caucasian but that's just what you get sometimes. The music kind of sucked and the decor seemed like it was trying to hard to be goofy, but overall things were friendly and welcoming. It wasn't really enough unlike any number of other brewery experiences for me to recommend it too heavily, but if you're in the area it would be silly to not stop by.

The place was packed with beach tourists and it created an awesome atmosphere. I had four free samples and a big glass of 120 minute IPA. This place is excellent!

I tend to take this place for granted, since in my many years of being able to go here I just never made the effort. Finally nearly 10+ years later, one lazy rainy day offered the opportunity.

Excellent vibe in the place, as you can get an idea that this is a very different company. Sam has created a fantastic brand and image and it shows in the work of the employees and surroundings.

Not much else really needs to be said about the beers, you wont find obscure one offs here though, you will have to go to Rehoboth for those. There is nothing you can buy here you can't find anywhere else. However, you will find a big store that sells a lot of swag, and also of course very fresh beer.

The tour is actually quite entertaining, with the most interesting bits being about the history of how Sam got started and the surrounding areas history. Staff here are very enthusiastic, and there is a sense they really like their jobs too. I wouldn't be here every day, but it's a good place for a rainy trip.

Fun tour (paid if I recall) with lots of yummy beers to sample (for free if I recall).

Also, you can play bocce ball and cornhole outside while you drink and wait for your tour.

WORD OF ADVICE: Don't expect to arrive and go on your tour right away. A lot of people visit here, and you may need to put your name on the list and wait for the next tour with room in it for you and your party.

Nice tour of the facility that focuses on the history and recipes rather than the Brewing process. Tour is followed (or preceded) by 4 samples, which is more than generous. Grill wagon serves up some tasty brats as a nice accompianment. Typical taproom vibe, gift shop rotates bottles. Always something new here.
