Picked up a single at Aggie Liquors in Ft. Collins for around $11.50.

A: Poured a deep dark red with a cream colored head about half an inch thick. Lots of little spots of lacing. Quite a bit darker than I had expected.

S: Sour smells, a little bit like vinegar, strong red wine smells, sour cherries, very heavy on the wine smells. Slight hint of oak woodiness.

T: Sour cherry flavors, slight honey flavors, vanilla, a lot of oak flavors too, nice brown ale nuttiness. Not as overwhelmingly sour as others. Very tasty beer. Nice lingering nuttiness and honey with sour accents. This is very tasty all around. Lots of things going on.

M: Somewhat thick, nice carbonation, and not nearly as dry as I thought it would be. There is a nice dryness though. Well balanced.

D: Excellent beer, easily could drink multiple 750s of this. Great beer all around. Not nearly as intense as other Flanders Red's that I have tried. Excellent beer.

A: poured from a 750 ml bottle into a pint glass, ruby colored with a nice light tan head that lingers leaving good lacing, clear

S: musty, plum, cherry, grapes, very tart, sour fruits, slight balsamic vinegar, mouth watering

T: sweet and sour, much sweeter than expected by the nose, strawberry, cherry, plum, currants, blackberry

M: on the thinner side, medium to high carbonation

O: an outstanding Belgian sour, the fruit flavors are amazing, beautiful balance of sweet and sour flavors, like eating a fresh bowl of fruit

Appearance: Very deep, dark, cola red-brown. Decent-sized head with mediocre retention.

Smell: Oaky barrels of red wine, bursting with blackberry-esque tartness and undercurrents of of tobacco, burnt sugar, and slight lactic acid. Unique and extremely sumptuous, an aroma that really enlivens the senses and gets the old salivary glands a-pumpin'.

Taste: Beautifully tart through-and-through but not at all puckering, a sourness of juicy green apples and green strawberries. Well-balanced and refreshing with a tart and bittersweet finish; very vinous, complex, and delicious.

Mouthfeel: Zippy and sharp to match the sourness, but smooth and silky at the same time.

Drinkability: This is just so damn good, I could drink it all night.
