L - deep straw with golden hues
S - mild citrus, subtle pine
T - resins with late citrus again
F - clean, low bitter finish on sides of tongue

One of the better IPAs in Kansas. Very drinkable. Wish it were a flagship for Free State.

Honey golden color with lacing and head of 2 fingers

Smells of cracker malt backing with pine and grapefruit

Taste is pretty bitter with honey notes, rinds and light toffee malts

Feel is carbonated and biting, aggressive

Not a fan really, a very linear, toffee-infused piney pale ale.

Pours from the bottle a clear amber that develops a bit of a chill haze with a light tan head that fades fairly fast.
The aroma is fruity up front, grapefruit and peach with a bit of candied fruit and pineapple.
The taste differs a bit from the smell. Mainly bitter pith and pine with some citrus at the end. A lot of bitterness and not much else.
Mouthfeel is medium and a touch dry.
Not sure how old this is (no bottling date, just the "Best by...") and it seems to be lacking.

This one has been sitting patiently in my fridge for a couple of months now. Time to stop passing it bye.

A nice bit of carbonation gets me about two inches of crackling bubbles that are doughy beige in tone. Body is the color of unfiltered honey in my glass. Nose includes soft citrus and flowery sweet malts. With first sip you are instantly greeted by a crisp and refreshing flavor profile. Citrus and fresh cut grass meld well together on the tongue. A bit of bready sweetness builds on the back of the palate with second sip. There is a nice dry body to this beer overall. This is a very well made IPA that could easily be enjoyed after mowing the yard or setting beside the pool.

Smell is of lemon-lime citrus reminiscent of Sprite, malt sweetness, and a little bit of pine resin. The taste is fairly bitter up front with a strong citrus flavor. Another not overly complex but fairly easy drinking IPA.

Look: Nice. Good white foamy head.
Smell: Strong piney hops. Getting a sense I'm going to be bowled-over.
Taste: Tastes like it smells. Strong hops up front, little substance otherwise.
Feel: Somewhat dry.
Overall: I've tried many examples of this style, but the problem I'm having is consistency. Hop content varies so much from beer to beer within the style that it's hard to get a grip on what an American IPA is. I'd probably put this with Dogfish Head's 90 Minute as a DIPA. Needs more character to be an AIPA, IMO.

I had the Free State Stormchaser summer IPA on tap at yard house in Kansas City. Served in a standard pint, the beer is a chill hazed dark gold with a slim of beige foam.

I like the aroma of grains, pine and a touch of stone fruit.

Nice malt backbone that adds a grainy cereal taste. There are resin notes and there is a bit more fruit (plum & peach) in the taste than in the smell. Not sure why it's a summer IPA, but it is tasty.

The mouth is slick and a bit coating.

The brewer did a nice job of balancing all the elements.
