The flagship of the O’Hara’s brand, this uniquely Irish stout brings one back to how Irish stouts used to taste. First brewed in 1999, it has since been awarded prestigious honours for its quality and authenticity.
O’Hara’s Irish Stout has a robust roast flavour complemented by a full-bodied and smooth mouth feel. The generous addition of Fuggle hops lends a tart bitterness to the dry espresso-like finish. This sessionable stout beer is filled with rich complex coffee aroma mingled with light liquorice notes. The combination of traditional stout hops with an extra pinch of roast barley allows us to stay true to Irish tradition, recreating a taste so often yearned for by stout drinkers.

This stout when held to a light had a cherry and copper color that penetrated through the darkness. The head was nice out of the bottle and would love to see this one in a nitreo can. Very nice roassted nose and and semisweet chocolate. The taste followed with nice deep roasted and espresso flavors and a nice drying hop preasance that compliments the mild sweetness of this stout. There is a certain twang in the hops and finish that is unique but good. Also I did get the very small metalic taste as noted by another reviewer but it did not detract at all from the beer.

Solid black appearance
Carbonation is on the lighter side with the body being rich and a little thick.
Aroma is licorice, wood, char with a mild mix of coffee, mocha and malt.
Taste is similar, almost dry but yet there's a creamy mild sweetness. Wood shows up in the finish and leaves a dry feel.
Overall this was an excellent dry irish stout

330mL bottle pours a very deep brown-black color with a very thin cap of dark tan-colored head that mostly disappears pretty quickly. Smells of burnt molasses, coffee, and vanilla. Flavorful but thin malt character with lots of charred/burnt flavor that closes to a slightly sour-bitter flavor. medium to full body with a moderate carbonation mouthfeel and a sour aftertaste.
I was hoping this would be really good, but I guess I'm still on the hunt for a really nice Irish Stout. This was okay, but nothing about it was very memorable or particularly well-done; kind of disappointing.

Going to do a short review, no head but black as night, smells of dry coffee and nuts, taste is mildly burnt toffee malt, that has a black licorice middle and an espresso end, carbonation just isn't there but appreciably thick. This is a perfectly serviceable stout, but nothing here is blowing me away. Their Leann Folláin is far better then this offering.

Dark brew with mild nose. Smooth taste of roasted hops with some coffee and nut notes. Long, very dry finish. Disappointing head, but I may have had too many nitro brews lately which always excel in that. Bought a bottle of this because of high rating according to store. But this is nothing special. I wanted Guinness Foreign Extra Stout with a higher ABV, which somehow I've never had.
