Been wanting to try this for years - happy to see it available now! Best before 1/27/2017; poured from a 500mL bottle into my Ayinger Celebrator pokal.

Very clear burnt umber body with a khaki surface slick and a lasting collar. Average retention (not great for the style); even, sandy lacing.

Sweet bready malt aromatics with a hint of sulfur - without being able to articulate exactly why, this reminds me of some baltic porters I've had as well. Low but persistent roast character throughout is 99% pleasant, but with a vanishing impression of stale hotel room or freshly used ashtray...

Moderately malty with touches of black bread, caraway, and iron. Earthy finish with just a whisper of smoke and maybe a hint of diacetyl. Clean, medium bitterness. No acrid/burnt or husky notes.

Light-bodied but very smooth with adequate almost chewy carbonation that leaves the tongue tingling.

Distinctively drinkable dark lager - one of the classic examples of the style.

Color brown ruby, clear. Foam beige, high and medium durable, fine to medium grained, leaves little marks on the glass.
Aroma very clear, lightly roasted, slightly nutty, a little poorly and not very intensely.
Taste also delicate, roasted again notes of walnut and slightly baked crust of dark bread. After heating has dark fruit in the amount of hard moderate, and that's it.
Gentian delicate burned. Beer disembodied, drink a little like water, too smoothly.
The loading medium toward high.

(8.5/10)- dark amber beer w/ little hop taste. Did not take good tasting notes- just hanging out in the bar.

I bought this as part of a make your own six pack. This a very good and drinkable beer. This is smooth and easy drinking, with no bitter after taste. I highly recommend giving this one a try.
