Stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon. Brought my wife and fav-o-rite little guy, chihuaha, Hendrix along. Walked in and it was pretty busy. Bar off to the right against the wall. We grabbed a booth and after a few minutes there service was there. No compalints on service. Plenty of other pooches besides mine and all were calm. Beer selection was average. There was only one beer on the board I had not had, DK Irish Ale. I was let down on beer selection. I can get that selection at a grocery store in Alabama. Calamari was good. Prices are reasonable.Pretty cool place and I dug because I bring my man Hendrix everywhere.

Norm's Ale House & Eatery is another good Fremont establishment. There are 10 beers on draught, and there is a particular emphasis on Pyramid brews. I like Pyramid, but Moose Drool is my personal favorite here. They also have plenty of domestic, import and micro- bottles with an excellent selection of PNW beers.
The food is very good to excellent. A lot more 'upscale' than other local Fremont or Wallingford pubs and bars. The panko battered fish 'n' chips, with asian slaw and homemade salt & vinegar chips, is an excellent choice. If you just want a snack, grab a bowl of the salt & vinegar chips or one of several other appetizers on the menu. Feeling more adventurous ... choose Norm's Doggy Bag special of the day.
The atmosphere is pretty laid back. Regulars pull up a stool at the bar, or you can grab a table or booth inside. There are a few hightops at the front that are open to the street and a few tables on the sidewalk as well. There is also a large sitting area on the far side of the bar and dining area if you just want to kick back and drink. Norm's is entirely smoke-free inside, but you can grab a smoke just outside the bar or at one of the outdoor tables. Another bonus - Norm's is very dog friendly. Pooches get free snacks from the biscuit bowl, and there is usually always a bowl of water available outside.
