Had this on my 2012 annual visit to Vancouver.
Pours dark & cloudy with a 1-finger fluffy white head. Good retention.
Aroma of clove, banana dominate.
Taste is of bubble gum, clove and banana.
Mouthfeel has a light body and lightly cleansing.
Overall, this is a drinkable brew. Not great, but decent enough.

Mid September 2005. Had at the Yaletown Brewery in Vancouver, BC.
Presentation- via samplers from the tap.
Appearance- Nice cloudy golden pour. 1/2 inch creamy white head and light lace.
Smell- Cloves, bananas and citrus...nice start.
Taste- Lots of banana flavor, a light touch of clove and some other citrus notes I can't put my finger on.
Mouthfeel- Average carbonation.
Drinkability- Impressive! Pretty rare to I find a hefe in the US or Canada that tastes like and actual hefe. Good job!

They got his one rright with the proper cloudy pale gold with a nice white fluffy head. The banana notes are there but the main body is well constructed. Not as good as the Hugo's Hefe in Victoria but very respectable. Try the summer seasonal as well which is a Rasberry Wheat.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this beer, from its signature straw color, to its hearty body.
The signature essences of clove and banana that are typical for this style were nicely balanced and well carbonated, giving it an initially crisp mouthfeel that gave way to a smooth and steady finish.
My server was kind enough to bring me a taster-sized glass of their seasonal Raspberry Wheat as well. I dont usually like fruit beers, but - much to my surprise - the infused raspberry balanced with an already kicking wheat base was quite delightful.

This beer was a very cloudy straw to gold color. The aroma was truly full of the banana fragrance. They do refer to it as a hefe, and this batch did do the name justice. The taste was chock full of the banana/clove taste and did linger as it left my palatte! I had a chance to speak to the brewer, and it seems at times, he does take some liberties at trying different things with his brews. I really enjoyed this brew and felt it was a nice representation of its style. As I only had a small sample size of this brew, I may not have gotten the full appreciation of the head. One note I will make, is with regards to a previous reviewer's comment about a strange metallic taste, and that is, when I eat certain foods that can occur!! Next time you are there, give it another shot!!
