Our delightful mid-summer seasonal, Hopkist is an easy drinking and refreshing citrus IPA. With a mild ABV of 4.75%, this IPA is wonderfully “sessionable” for the hot summer months. The combination of Honey Malt and Citra hops in both brewing and dry hopping along with a healthy zip of citrus zest makes Hopkist the perfect summer brew.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Could not find any freshness dating.
Hazy orange yellow body, small white head which still manages to leave some nice lacing.
aroma is slightly fruity, but only very slightly.
A good honest mouthful reveals a good fruit "kist" to it. slightly peppery, but not much in the hop department. Still, it tastes decent enough.
Mouth is below medium, even slightly watery. There is a pleasant bittersweet finish to it.
overall, a decent tasting brew, but you get the feeling that it should be better somehow.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped HK17005-005-170608. The last six digits might mean June 8, 2017. Sampled on August 30, 2017.
It is a good looking golden yellow pour with a lingering white head and nice clarity.
The aroma leans on the herbal tobacco side with the vaguest citrus hint and a bready malt sensation.
Medium or maybe better body. Smooth.
The taste is also more tobacco-herbal in character with a malt sweetness. This may be several weeks old because the hops have faded and the malts are more forward.

On-draught @ Randolph Beer Wburg.
Muddled. Honey malt isn't helping. Uninteresting hop profile.
Drinkable but underwhelming.

Nice refreshing brew - more or less a session, I think this would be better with more punchy citrus and a higher ABV - then again that changes the beer.
