Drinking on a warm March day in DC area. Poured from a can into a pint glass. Slightly cloudy, golden copper color. Smells of ripe fruit and wheat. The taste is surprisingly mellow and slightly funky. Flavors are not dominated by cloves or banana like some US saisons are. The hints of Brett yeast come through. Would def. drink again. The 7.5% ABV sneaks up though.

So this saison is really a nice surprise. I was expecting a typical classic spicy and yeasty saison, but this one is a little bit drier and a touch hoppier. You can still taste the yeast and a slight spiceness but it’s more subtle. No funk or sourness at all. Overall it’s a nice beer and a little different from the normal saison. It’s very drinkable and 7.5% goes down easy.

I had this on tap in a tasting glass inside of the Ithaca Brewing Co Store while visiting some friends and family in Ithaca for the festival this weekend. For those not in the know, they are currently on their last half barrel of this, so get it while it's still there!
The taste and scent of this pale yellow beer was that of light cloves and a hint of bananas. Mouthfeel was excellent and smooth and it was extremely drinkable. The Saison style or Farmhouse Ale is meant to be low ABV and a thirst quencher for farmers and laborers out in the hot sun, and after a hot day, this sure hit the spot.
My only regret is I cheaped out and didn't buy a growler of this because of the ride home!

This is an experimental release from Ithaca using 3 yeast strains (including Brett). 4 barrels were brewed and it's expected to go fast. Pale, cloudy straw color with a foamy white head that dissipates to moderate lacing. Banana and clove aroma with a bit of sour funkiness. Mellow flavor with some citrus and clove spiciness. Dry, clean, slightly bitter finish. Medium-light bodied with good drinkability. I'm not very familiar with this style, but I certainly like this offering.
