Picked up a bottle at the supermarket to give it a try. Fun bottle design and fun beer. Pours a golden Amber color with a nice head. Fruity smell snd you can definitely taste the citrus and hops. Nice easy to drink beer. Liked this and will look for more from Ithaca.

I'm really liking the smell of this beer right away. Quite citrus and some dankness fruity. First sip the citrus was lighter than I would have thought which quickly gives way to a dry malt finish with some light bitterness coming through. Good beer but really no sweetness/fruitiness coming through from what I detected on the nose. Feel like I could drink this easily and alcohol content hidden. Like it.

One pineapple & a loaf of bread.
Two tablespoons of honey & a field of hops.
A twig from a pine tree & a bouquet of tulips.
A dash of white pepper & a dog's kiss on the cheek.
Golden-amber, medium-bodied, & floral, hence its name.
Bitter on the attack & finish;
A bitterness that needs a blue cheese to spar with it.
A bitterness that needs some French fries or kettle chips.
It has a maltiness that summons Upstate's vast western region, full of as much mystery as the City.
The porches, the factories, the small towns, the mountains, and rivers.
The snow, the birds, the universities, the tractors, and the wind.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass. Color is a really nice orange-gold, a bit hazy. Two-finger dense and frothy white head leaves decent lacing. First hit of the smell for me was grapefruit and cat pee ( the good kind), though the aroma became much more muted after that first blast, resolving to a subtle citrus and tropical fruit. I get more of a spicy herbal flavor that carries through to the finish, which is pleasantly lingering with medium bitterness. Good carbonation keeps things lively. The malt provides a sweetness which for me is just right (the sweet spot?) to balance the spicy hops. This is a delicious IPA--glad I got it.

Fresh bottle into a perfect pint glass. Leaves a sticky head as thick as old phlegm, and good carbonation. Taste is a little tartier than I usually prefer. Nice nose though and probably better on a hot day.

On tap at Atrium Grille and Bar at the Embassy Suites in Syracuse - This is one beautiful IPA. Pours slightly hazy light golden with a lasting, clingy-as-all-get-out finger of white foam that laces every sip to the bottom. Aroma is citrus all the way, with just a bit of tropical fruit (mango?) to take it into one of the top beers I've smelled. Flavor is similar, with citrus blast dominating up front, a nice malt backbone mid-sip, and just slightly dry on the finish with some lingering grapefruit. Very good stuff

Poured into an old 12oz shoe. Smell was musty but I think it may have been the shoe. Definitely smelled some tropical notes too. Jokes aside about what I was pouring it into this is one of my favorite readily available IPA's. It has just the right amount of hoppiness and fruitiness to be utterly smooth and flavorful to drink. The ABV is both high and covered well. Just a great beer!

Trying this beer at the bar in the Embassy Suites in Downtown Pittsburgh. It poured a clear golden with white head that left some lace. The scent had hints of potpourri. The taste if fairly well balanced with floral notes being present. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

12 oz can in Dublin, Ohio.
Hazy amber body with a white head that displays good retention.
Moderately hoppy, strong and bitter for an American IPA. Fruity and herbal notes with a touch of earthy. Hints of ripe apricots and pears.
Medium body and medium-high carbonation.

Amber in color with a fingernail of bright white on top. Heavy lacing is present. The aroma is fairly straightforward with plenty of citrus hops. The taste is aggressively filled with citrus hops with a nice light malt backbone to keep things from being out of hand. The mouth is very crisp and refreshing.

A very good beer - this guy has a maltier backbone to subdue the astringent hops. The hops are still present of course but are balanced very nicely in this highly drinkable IPA.

No BO or BB date.
16oz can to 20oz Spiegelau IPA. Pours honey colored, with a light cloudiness. A quick dissipating head gives way to very little lacing.
Smell: Mild overtones of fruit, medium floral, and malt. Taste: Very strong on the floral and malty side.. with a slight hint of citrus. MF: Light carbonation, smooth/creamy throughout. No lingering bite.

I've been staring at this beer on the bottle shops I frequent often. I finally decided to give it a go. What a pleasant surprise for me! The lack of aromas belies the overall taste, which is very good.

Not an IPA fan, but this is not as hoppy and bitter as others (same reason I married my husband). Has a sort of effervescence on the tongue from the beginning. Not as smooth as my usual beers, but good and palatable.

Bottle into a snifter.

3.5 A: Moderately hazed medium orange color with granular particles in suspension. Two fingers of creamy white head. Retention is about average and a finger ring of lacing is left.

3.75 S: Rich maltiness with plenty of peachy fruitiness. Floral, resiny, and citrusy hops. Caramel malts to round it out.

4.0 T: Hops per above with peachy, orange, and pineapple citrus. Again strong neutral maltiness with caramel notes and light toffee.

4.0 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly creamy and super smooth.

4.25 D: Good mix of hops and malts. Great beer overall.

Ithaca Flower Power IPA:

Pours a hazy straw color, and smells of tropical fruits and hop bitterness. Taste follows the nose. Piney, tropical hop flavors. Quite bitter, but has great drinkability. This is one of the staples for me as IPA's go, and it is always readily available near me. Flower power!

Store just got a case of this. It has a 3 month Best By, so it’s at most 1 month old (June is nicked on the bottle label).

A white fluffy one finger head. The color is a light peach and apricot gold color. Looks almost like Crystal Delight. It’s super hazy and you cannot see through it.

That aroma is killer. So freaking complex. Tropical fruit, juicy ripe peaches, pineapple, apple. Just sweet sweet ripe fruit. Going back in, it’s almost like sweet grapefruit, which is hidden from the honey sweet aroma. A white bready malt.

The flavor is quite interesting. Not as expected. The first thing that kicks you is a huge grapefruit bitterness that rushes all over the tongue, onto the sides. There’s pineapple in there as well. The middle has a slight biscuit malt flavor before the finish hits.

The aftertaste has this astringent grapefruit peel bitterness. Very fresh and natural tasting without bothering the palate. It’s very strong still. A huge bitter bomb. Not recommended for those just getting into IPAs.

It’s well constructed. I wish the front flavors were a bit stronger and lasted longer. The transition is good to the strong and bitter finish.

This is a hop head’s dream. The bitterness I wish was slightly toned down, but there aren’t too many complaints. World class beer.

12oz bottle into pint glass at a hotel bar in NY.

A: Pours a hazy burnt golden with a finger of greasy off-white oily head that faded into a greasy film that lasted the whole beer through. Sheets of sticky lace left down the glass.
S: A simple but delicious smelling perfumey tropical fruit nose.
T: Juicy tropical fruit hops mixed with a kiss of floral bouquet. I get a kiss of citrus nectar hints in the finish. The malt back bone pokes through with a hint of bready sweetness and just a touch caramel and honey. Sweet overall, but packs a solid citrus bitterness to balance. Aftertaste is light sweet and has a nice floral blossom honey quality.
M: Medium body, smooth and soft carbonation, slick and lightly greasy hop oil mouthfeel. The bitterness is solid and lingers in the aftertaste.
O: A very solid IPA, extremely smooth. Just a tad on the sweet side for my personnel taste, but I'd definitely order this again. Nice bouquet of fresh hop florals and flavors. I'd say this beer is boarding into dipa territory.

Six pack of 12 oz bottles from Giant Eagle Sawmill store poured into a 16 oz snifter. No date on bottles or carton. Reminds me of The Calling but slightly less refined. Still one of the better products I have had from Ithaca.

L -- Pours an amber orange body with near-total clarity. Two-fingers of off-white head produced with moderate pour. Good retention and great lacing
S -- Primarily grassy, resinous, and malty. Hint of floral
T -- Pine, floral, caramel malt, grass, earth, dried lemon rind. Quite bitter
F -- Medium mouthfeel, medium carb. Rather bracing bitterness, but has a nice fluffiness and dimensionality to it
O -- Sadly no canning date on this, which makes it difficult to gauge whether the lack of hop character was due in part to old age. More earthy/malty than floral

Pours an amber orange slightly hazy with a finger of soapy white foam.
Smells floral, citrus, sweet tropical notes, and malt.
Taste is predominantly ruby red grapefruit, a little sweet yet still has a tangy bitterness. Getting some floral and pineapple notes too. Sweet malt and honey are definitely there, reminds me a bit of Hopslam in that regard.
Light to medium body, slightly dry finish.
Overall a prety tasty brew, seems to be more classic than most new ones I've tried.

I do not think I have sampled this in the bottle before today. I have had it on tap several times on Long Island or NYC but never made it to a review. Big, attractive golden body with cream colored head and a pine resin and medicinal hops driven nose.

This is sharp but very clean, with a strong piney bitterness with a tropical fruit chaser. Well balanced and highly drinkable for its octane, this mostly lives up to the hype.

Hazy light gold with small white head poured into clear plastic cup. Bottled on 5/17/2017. Smell is wonderful. Tropical fruit, citrus, honey, hibiscus, hops, piney. Taste is very hoppy and floral with the tropical fruit in the back end. Soft mouthfeel. Excellent IPA. If it wasn't as pricey as it is, it would be a staple in my fridge.
