A - Nice orange color. I could care less about appearance, so unless it's really beautiful or really ugly, it will get the average of the other ratings. Who drinks a beer for appearance anyway?

S - Fruity, some pine. You can tell they used some seriously fruity hops for the late additions and dry hopping.

T - Fruity, piney, citrus, no lack of bitterness, but definitely more hop flavor than bitterness.

M - Light and smooth, yet the fruitiness of the hops give it a unique character.

O - One of the best hop-fruity IPAs out there. You will definitely taste the flowers.

Pours a medium amber color with a medium white head that quickly faded to a thin white film. Nose is full of hops - hence the name. Love the floral aroma. Taste is surprisingly sweet, considering the huge hop presence in the aroma. Also some pine and citrus. Medium-heavy mouthfeel. Overall, a fantastic, balanced IPA. I will definitely have it again.

I've had this on multiple occasions from the tap and bottle. This review is based on the bottle version.

A: Poured a nice honey golden color with a finger and a half head that disipated into about a quarter finger head.

S: huge notes of grapefruit in the nose. A nice piney resin-esque layer lingers behind the grapefruit.

T: A culmination of grapefruit/tropical fruit rush the front of the mouth; by the middle of the mouth sweetness from the malts behind to emerge, which is faded out by beautiful layer of bitterness.

M: Medium carbonation and a nice creamy mouthfeel.

O: One of the best single IPAs that I have had. As I stated above, I have had this beer multiple times and its always treat. If I had to drink one IPA for the rest of my life, I would not mind if it was Flower Power.

I dedicate this review to all of the haters who claim that they will not be purchasing Ithaca's products after getting shut out at the Le Bleu release on Saturday. Cheers!

Pours a pale yellow with a white head - nice retention, good lacing.

Smells of citrus - orange, mango, tangerine, grapefruit. Backed by a nice floral bouquet. Also has a nice earthy herbal hop character.

Taste is lively hoppy bouncing flavor all over the palate - fresh orange, sweet mango, bitter grapefruit, slick deceptive malt backbone barely there, but shows up with a slight detection of sweet cereal. A lovely IPA - one of the best.

This beer should be an Imperial IPA. It is in my top 5 IPA's and is so refreshing and goes down so easy, its scary. I live in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania where you can not purchase this beer yet, so a drive for it was worth it. It smells flowery but it is Citrus and Pine, with hints of grapefruit. All I have to say is I will be buying this whenever available, because in thirty years of drinking, this is truly one of my most enjoyable experiences.

Bought a case of 12oz bottles at Bella Vista in Philly for about $45. Poured into an imperial pint glass.

Appearance (4): Slightly cloudy dark orange color. A finger of off-white head recedes to a thick ring around the outside of the glass and a thin layer of small and medium sized bubbles. The head is maintained but there is not much lacing.

Aroma (4.5): Absolutely incredible bouquet of floral and fruity hops. Pineapple, grapefruit, and orange rind. There is a faint sweet booziness with a hint of caramel from the crystal malts.

Taste (4.5): The taste follows the aroma but not quite as potent. Slightly sweet floral hops up front, with bright fruit flavors like grapefruit and mango. An very orangey middle gives way to strong pine flavors in the finish. The slightly sweet caramel flavors also emerge in the finish, but are still dominated by the bitter, slightly resinous floral hops. Speaking of bitterness, it is slightly perceptible but smooth. It balances out the slight sweetness well without being overpowering. There is great harmony here despite the huge tropical fruit flavors.

Mouthfeel (4): Medium to high carbonation for the style and a somewhat prickly mouthfeel. Not overly carbonated but lively which plays well with the fruit flavors. The bitterness and especially the floral hops linger a bit and coat the mouth.

Drinkability (4.5): This is incredibly drinkable for nearly being a DIPA. The huge flavors are still palatable in big gulps as there is little apparent ethanol. I have been drinking a lot of this due to having a whole case of best-when-fresh IPA, but still feel guilty like I should be savoring it. I'll be looking to try this on draft ASAP.

A-The beer pours a luscious amber orange hue. The beer is hazy and when poured, a head forms, then slowly rises and retains excellently. The lacing is pretty too.

S-Flowery hops lead the way with this one. A bit fruity as well. Light base malt here. The flowers are awesome. The tropical aroma is amazing too. Honeydew, mango and apricot. Killer.

T-Some great fruity and piney hop flavors to begin. The fruitiness is quite tropical. The pine is not overpowering, but does leave some impressive bitterness. The malt is lighter but still noticeable. After each sip comes a long, awesome, lasting floral flavor that refuses to die off. My type of hoppiness. Just so damn concentrated and exotic.

M-Light to medium bodied with a nice crisp carbonation. Slick mouthfeel. Overall, they nailed it here with the feel.

O/D-For 7.5% the beer is very drinkable. The floral taste seems to never leave the palate. The beer has all the better aspects of my ideal IPA. Great fruits, some nice pine that leads to an underrated bitterness. The hops are so juicy and ripe and multidimensional. Everything from green grass to wet pineapple. Overall, after my second six-pack, I have begun to fall in love with the unique flavor this brew showcases.

Flower Power pours a medium orange copper. There's a fluffy white head, with great retention and lacing.

The aroma is dominated by hops, as you'd expect. Citrus and grapefruit, mostly, with a touch of malty sweetness.

The taste follows the aroma. There's that slight sweetness that balances out an incredible hop flavor of citrus and grapefruit. There's a nice bitterness that hides the 7.50% ABV really well.

Mouthfeel is nice and light, with a slight alcoholic presence. Smooth with a touch of bitterness that lingers for a little.

This West-Coast style IPA has flown under the radar for too long. Exemplifying much of what an IPA should be, it's time Flower Power gets the recognition it deserves.

A - beautiful looking beer, golden honey colored with a fluffy two finger head with some staying power

S - the nose is incredible. Waves and waves of fruity hops hit you up from- peach, nectarine, pineapple, a hint of lemon zest. Followed with a touch of pine

T - loads of grapefruit and many of the same citrus fruits in the nose. As the name implies there's a ton of "flowery" evervescent notes

M - average mouthfeel. Real crisp not great but not bad

Poured from bottle into a long Pilsner glass. Look is a cloudy golden color with a good 2 finger white head that stays and cascades all the way down the glass. Smell is a strong citrusy floral hoppy aroma that continues with the taste. Very smooth and light feel in mouth for a 7.5% ABV IPA. Overal this is exactly my kind of flowery/citrusy IPA with hints of orange, pineapple, and lemon, followed by lovely flowery hop flavor a with no malty backbone. Very dangerous though cause it goes down so easily!

A: Nice deep golden color with small head when poured.

S: Typical lovely hoppy smell of IPA. Lots of piney and citrus along with some dank.

T: Great tasting IPA. Just like the nose, piney and citrus. Nice crisp dank bitterness that hit, lingers just long enough with a piney end. Great balance.

M: Nice body, good carbonation and def not the lightest IPA on the palate. Almost a creamy texture.

O: A wonderful example of an IPA. Name def suits this beer. I would def search this out again and glad I have a few more. A must have if you are an IPA fan.

12 oz. bottle poured into my harpoon 100 barrel glass.

OH MY GOD, is this pliny's cousin? I had PTE for the first time on vacation in San Francisco and I have been crazing it ever since. This was the closest that I have come to matching it.

It pours an amber gold with a two finger head that fades slowly with a bit of lacing. Smell is citrus and bitter. I can tell this is going to be good...

Taste is perfect for a double ipa. Smooth, crisp, super fresh taste. I absolutely love this beer! I can't believe this is my first time trying it.

A - Looks darker than expected. More like a DIPA than an IPA in color with a half inch of head.

S - First smell - grapefruit hops and boy it it citrus-licious! The smell is strong and fruity so hopefully the taste will be equal.

T - Hmm it is smooth but really muted. I expected an assault of hop-itude but got a smooth IPA which is very drinkable but not as expected. It is pretty nice to see such sweetness in such a high ABV IPA with a slight hops giving the bang for your buck. I am confused...

M - I would expect it to be around 6 percent so this recipe is awesome.

D - Well money talks and I haven't seen the case prices for it but I can already tell I can get Southern Tier 2xIPA for cheaper and I liked it the same. This is still one great IPA and if you can get your hands on it cheaper than most IPA's go for it. For me I have little options and it really wasn't worth the four dollar single. Nice beer.

A: hazy orange amber with fine white head

S: unmistakeable American hops full of citrus/grapefruit but powerful and floral as well. The name of this beer and the aroma are just a perfect match.

T: although dominated by hops there is more to the aroma and flavor and less of a bitterness than you might expect in such a well hopped IPA. The result is a suprising tilt to the balance toward something aromatic, floral, and spicy and away from a tongue lashing and lingering bitterness. The bitterness is clean and restrained and beautifully in balance.

M: medium bodied, well carbonated and lively

O: this is just a gorgeous beer and despite the many other IPAs I've had, this perfectly named beer reinvented the style for me and showed me something brand new and fresh. I really can't get enough Flower Power!

Horrible cold day, first snow of the year, time to drink like its warm out.

Appearance - Quintessential dark orange, no hop haze whatsoever. About a fingers worth of a very fluffy white head that sticks to the glass.

Smell - The highlight of this beer. Incredibly floral and juicy. Grapefruit and orange peel stand out with a nice bready backbone. Just an amazing smelling beer.

Taste - Pretty good, definitely a very juicy IPA, very little bitterness just an incredibly lusciously juicy hop offering.

Mouthfeel - Nice carbonation and on the thicker side.

Overall - I can't believe this one is 7.5abv. One of the nicest smelling IPAs i have ever had but not the best tasting. Overall a very great offering, i can see why this beer gets hyped!

Thanks to dujayhawk for this particular bottle. I've had this one a few times before, but never given it a proper review. Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Russian River pint glass.

A: Pours a clear light gold, with a one-finger white head that quickly fades to foam. Moderate visible carbonation.

S: Huge hop aroma. Tropical fruit, floral, grass, dank, and a bit of orange/citrus. Just a touch of biscuit malt in the background.

T: Follows the nose, but more orange & grapefruit citrus hops, with some melon and spice in addition. The tropical fruit hops seem most prominent. Bitterness in the hang but that fades quickly from the palate.

M: Light body, great carbonation sensation, minimal alcohol presence.

O: Well, this is as tasty as ever. Certainly one of my top IPAs out there.

12oz bottle poured into a New Belgium globe.

A: Clear orange. Bubbly white head settles rather quickly. Light rings of lacing.

S: Very floral. It's like a bouquet of flowers. Lots of tropical notes too. Pineapple and orange. Green and pithy with hint of pine. Subtle caramel and biscuity malt base.

T: Green, pithy, and floral hops. Dank, oily tide of bitterness builds. Quick bursts of tropical fruits come through now and then, mostly orange and peach. Malt tastes are reminiscent of biscuits and just a touch of caramel. The malt taste doesn't come through much, but it provides a nice base. Pine just before the finish. Finishes with bitter, oily hop tastes, pith, and pine resin.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied. Creamy and well rounded with some of that enamel-stripping feeling.

O: This is an excellent IPA. Maybe my new favorite. It has drinkability in spades, and is brimming with mouth-watering hop flavors. This is an easy rival for anything from the west coast.

Notes: A great value for the money too.

355 ml bottle

Pours a hazy amber with huge white foamy head. The nose is exploding with citrus, grapefruit and pine hop aromas. Slight malt presence in the back. Very nice sticky lacing forms. Sip provides an excellent tasting IPA, hop forward and bitter right into the finish. Theres a smoothness in the middle where the malt characteristics shine. Medium bodied mouthfeel. High drinkability, a more citrusy IPA with plenty of flavour makes this very refreshing. Glad I picked up a six pack.

Poured into a pint glass

A - Pours a hazy orange-gold with a lovely fluffy white head. Retention is amazing and the lacing is ridiculous. One of the prettiest IPAs I've seen!
S - Wonderful aromas of sweet orange peel, grapefruit, mango, pine resin, and flowers. Not too strong but not too subtle, very nice nose.
T - Floral and citrus hops are tamed nicely by the bready caramel malt. Finish is pleasantly bitter and dry.
M - Light bodied with sharp, crisp carbonation, just right for the style. Surprised to see this is 7+ ABV, I'm not detecting it at all!
D - Incredibly drinkable, hindered only by the higher ABV. If this was around 5% (and easier for me to find), I'd drink it all day long. Amazing beer, can easily contend with the top-tier West Coast IPAs.

I was lucky enough to get this as an extra!

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle in a pint glass, and it comes out a beautiful golden color with a hint of haze. You can smell the floral hops as it pours and the citrus when you get it to your nose. The hops hit you right away with a malty backend that is fantastic. Definitely its my first but certainly one of my favorite IPAs. It has the grapefruit bite, and a great sweetness to counter that slightly. Not overly carbonated, in fact there was almost no head and no lacing down the glass. This is a great IPA, great flavor, and absolutely one I want to get again.

Cheers!

Got this in a surprise box from Chcfan! Thanks a bunch Chris! This has been a long time want for me (despite not being on my wants list) so thanks for your psychic powers.

Pours a hazy golden color with an amber tint. Huge head (it's still growing as I type this...) with great retention and leaves tons of lacing. This brew is glowing, I love the color so much, this is what I think all IPA's should look like. Beautiful.

There is no doubt why this is called flower power, with a big floral aroma on the nose. Nice bitter hop presence, very appealing to me. So far this is turning out to be everything I had hoped for.

The taste is great too, with a big bitter floral hop character up front, that gives way to a sweet and very fruity hop character in the finish. Fantastic. There is a very distint point in each drink when the taste turns from bitter to fruity, and it's surprising each and every time.

Mouthfeel is light to medium, very smooth and creamy. Huge lingering bitter aftertaste. Drinkability is great, what a great session IPA.

This is a great IPA, possibly one of my top 5 that I have ever tried. Absolutely fantastic. Completely undeserving of the B+ average it gets here, which is complete blasphemy if you ask me. Although I hate with a burning passion the state in which this was brewed in (only because of the Yankee's) this is one thing that I adore the state for producing.

Pours clear orange amber with full finger off white head

Aromas reek of delicious hoppiness. Lemon orange citrus hoppy with some pine. Has some sweet too.

Starts with hop spiciness. Citrus pine bitter. Sweet oranges. HUGE excellent bitter finish. Get a sense of sweet malt but always has big hop backbone.

Smooth mouth medium light body.

Overall excellent hoppy American IPA

pale yellow not too heady pour. aptly named, as the floral aroma is astounding! thick, nectarlike but clears easily. hop bitterness is crisp at the end, doesn't linger too long. by far the most fragrant of IPA's, and not your typical litchi fruit nose...loved it!

Bottle poured into glass yields a medium sized bubbly head that is slighty off-white in color. Beer is a dull cloudy yellow with a hint of orange. Head recedes to leave a thin film on top. Moderate lacing.

Great smell - grapefruit, orange, and floral are most noticable. Pinneapple and pine also present with a bit of bread. Taste is incredible as well, starts with orange and floral, then comes grapefruit bitterness, finishing with pine and bread. Mouthfeel is very creamy, medium/heavy body, moderate/high and slightly biting carbonation.
