12oz bottle into my Dogfish glass.

A: Pours a clear straw/copper with about 1" white head that recedes quickly. Retention is excellent, lacing is minimal.

S: A blast of floral & citrus notes countered by a solid crackery malt note. Quite nice.

T: Leads with off-sweet caramel & flower notes. Mid palate is malty with touches of honey. Finish is properly hop-bitter.

M: Moderate carb & a pretty light but slick body all come together nicely.

O: Really quite good.

Bartender stated this was best on the board. Never tried Ithaca. Never would have guessed the ABV. Think it's the pineapple that hides it. Woud Spongebob approve? Pleasant surprise.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, almost opaque, golden yellow coloring with a clingy, low profile, coating white head. Aromas of piney and resinous hops, with a solid pepper spice, and a heavy dose of mango, pineapple, and tangerine. Very tropical and piney, all at the same time. Flavors are bitter hops forward, with pine and cut grass blending over a pepper spice character. Then comes the fruit, heavy on citrus and tropical notes, especially pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, melon, and mango. Very fruity. Smooth, mid-bodied, with a dry undertone. The aftertaste carries a bit more bitterness, with a vinous quality on the vegetal bitterness. The finish has a decent resinous and tropical linger, and is slow and dry. Good beer.

This is quite the enjoyable East Coast IPA. Bought in a growler (at Total Wine in Fredericksburg, VA) and enjoyed at home. Poured a golden amber with a small head and yummy taste!

A - Pours a cloudy golden orange with a two-finger white foamy head. The settles into a small ring leaving lots of sticky lacing.

S - Aroma is orange, grapefruit, and piney hops.

T - The taste starts with a subtle punch of piney hops that is followed by a wash of grapefruit and orange. The is a light caramel malt backbone balancing the flavors.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel with a crisp finish.

O - A nice easy drinking IPA. Would definetly drink again.

Bottling date of 04/03/15

Appearance - Pours clear and purely golden in color with a white, finger width head. Good retention before dissipating to a thin, broken layer of suds. Spotty lacing with good stick.

Smell - Floral notes with touches of ruby red grapefruit and pine. Faint, bready malt undertone.

Taste - Follows the nose. Floral notes hit first, then a big grapefruit hop character comes through. Sturdy malt backbone that rides between caramel and sweet breadiness.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium body with fair carbonation. Smooth, slick texture. Easy on the finish.

Overall - Delicious and easy drinking IPA. Reminds me a bit of Deschutes Inversion, only smoother and more approachable. Would love to see this on the West Coast some day.

A solid IPA. Nice golden color with decent soapy lace retention. Bready malts and some floral esters in the aroma. Piney and resiny hops predominate the taste along with a bready malt backbone for balance. A dry finish. Medium bodied and very drinkable. Will get again.

Poured from a fresh growler into a mug

A: Pours a lively gold color with a 2 finger head of white foam and a visible amount of carbonation.

S: Aromas are floral and citrus hops that are strong but not overwhelming. Some pine with a good amount of biscuity malts as well.

T: Clean, crisp flavors of floral/piney hops. Some citrus is there with a solid backbone of biscuity malts. The malt stacks up fairly well to the hops making this beer very balanced.

M: High carbonation with a medium body and a crisp, refreshing mouthfeel. Good balance and very drinkable with a finish that is a touch dry.

O: Overall I thought this was a good IPA that is very drinkable and very balanced. Crisp floral/citrus hop flavors with a bit of pine that is there but not overwhelming. Biscuity malts stack up well to the hops leading to moderate bitterness. A solid IPA that I would definitely recommend.

Pours a very light orange...beautiful classic IPA color. Smells are tropical, grapefuit and alcohol. The hops boom up front in the taste but quickly fade into a snappy dry, clean finish. Every sip leaves you wanting another almost immediately after.

No "born on date" on bottle; poured into a snifter.
The nose comes off as an orangey carmel with a hint of lavender. Big malty feeling on the nose too.
Taste was a little more florally than what was picked up off the nose. Nice big malty finish on this one. I compared it a little to DFH60.
Typical east coast IPA having more malty notes in the taste than the floral abundance of a west. Delightfully delicious and will pick up again in the future.

Description: Golden, peachy color with a cloudy appearance and a bit of white head and lacing. Smell presents a bold floral bouquet (as you might expect given the name) with some pine and fruit notes as well. Taste is consistent with the smell and you get floral, pine, fruitiness and a little bit of bitterness on the finish; overall it's nicely balanced. Carbonation is light and for an IPA it has a fuller body than you might expect. Bit of a meatier, fuller feel as well.

Suggested food pairing: Cheeseburger and fries

If you like this beer then you should also try: Si p of Sunshine

Ideal time to drink this beer: Belly-up at the bar. Given the food pairing, this seems appropriate.

Overall: 4.25 (This beer is good and I would likely drink it again) This beer may not be on the same level as some of the elite, East Coast-IPAs but it's certainly no slouch. It's a good representation of the style and feels sort of like a good college football player who isn't quite at the NFL level: nothing to be ashamed of but maybe not in the top rung. Still, flavorful and widely available, this is a great choice if you don't have access to everything else that the East Coast has to offer.

Without a doubt, one of the best and easily drinkable IPAs I've had in a while. It did not present as an overly hoppy beer on smell, and the taste and finish was clean and crisp. Pours just a little cloudy; it had a floral and fruity taste, but not overly so on either count. I would buy this regularly. It actually went down a little too easily!

From the bottle into a pint glass, didn't notice a freshness date. This beer is a cloudy orange with a great lacing and retention, nice golden tinge to it.

S - Aromas of tangerine, fresh orange juice, lavender, juicy citrus, with a fresh sweetness to it, balanced by a meaty malty backbone. A tinge of slightly tart gooseberry. Overall it is good, but I get the sense if fresher it would really pop.

T - immediate notes of citrus, with fresh tangerine, grapefruit, very bright, with some fresh spring florals, a touch of herbal notes. I do get some pineapple creep in to compliment the bright citrus to really give a nice tropical feel to this beer, and it feel really satisfying and smooth on the palate, with a thick creamy feel and enough bitterness and zesty carbonation to balance it off nicely and lead to a satisfying drying finish. A great IPA.

M - smooth, sits thick and a bit creamy on the palate with a refreshing body and nice malt tones, very appealing.

Overall, yes a very great IPA, I would love to have this regularly available, but for me personally I think it is a step below some others I have had, and I think that is just do to a palate preference, the execution here is spot-on and the beer exudes the tropical pineapple and tangerine/grapefruit notes. Really lovely beer.

This beer was bland. Maybe I got a pack that had been on the shelf too long but it was in the store's cooler. I am a huge fan of IPA's and -- although I prefer them with a very strong hoppiness -- frankly this just had very little taste overall. I really did try to like it. I like Ithaca's beers and dig the name :). But after all 6 I still felt like I was just drinking water with some hop flavour.

EDIT: On a plus note, if you know someone who wants an introduction to IPA's this would probably be OK. I tend to give 2's only to beers I don't want to buy again -- doesn't mean it was "bad", just I thought it was far off from good.

A: poured into an IPA glass to a somewhat hazed golden yellow topped by a dense three finger white head that retains well and leaves good lacing
S: smells of citrus and tropical fruits with some slight sweetness
T: taste is tropical fruits like mango and pineapple with some grapefruit. decent sweetness from the malt provides balance. swallow is slightly bready malt more grapefruit and pineapple with some oily hop resin.
M: medium in the mouth with soft and slightly prickly carb. this beer has a refreshing finish.
O: an outstanding IPA with great balance and a decent complexity of flavors. buy it if you see it.

Good friend from Syracuse suggested to grab a few of these and I was glad I did. A really outstanding IPA. Intense aroma out of the glass and matching taste. The beer was balanced very well and I look forward to more of these.

A-Mid tone yellow color with a relatively thick haze
S-Very musty and herbal hints of pine and very subtle citrus
T-Not overly sweet and the bitterness is modest and very balanced
M-I quote enjoyed the carbonation as it was not over the top yet added to the overall mouthfeel in a positive way
O-Very drinkable IPA froM the NorthEast. If you are a fan of musty hops, this is a nice treat. Recommended.

What a great IPA. I bought this in a mixed six pack and I was blown away! It is a really refreshing hoppy IPA that works really well in the warmer weather. It pours a nice light golden color with plenty of hop aroma. The taste is lighter and crisp. It is a refreshing beer. The hops and a slight sweetness go really well together. This is a must try and a must have! I enjoy and recommend this beer.

Goes down easy. A pretty good IPA. I'm a little burned out on iPA's, and it's not much different than 50 other ones, but it is drinkable. I'll buy this again.
