Flower Power into a wide mouth chalice.

A: beautiful golden haze. Moderate suspended carbonation and solids. 1 finger rocky wannabe head that dissipates to a leggy thin disk.

S: GRAPEFRUIT. Big alphas. hoppy as all get out. bitter melon, bitter fruit.

T: Follows nose. Huge bitter citrus. spicy yeast bread. Bright hop oils. Bitter orange at final swallow.

M: Creamy. A very nice medium-full bodied brew. Light bitter citrus. Bittering leaves hoppy dry finish. Outbreath leaves very slight booze burn. Very aromatic.

O: I am pleasantly shocked with this brew. Very world class. I really really like this.

poured hard from a bottle into a heavy pint glass.

poured a cloudy, deep yellow with sediment floating through the ale. it looks to be a live unfiltered style, kinda reminding me of a sierra nevada pale ale. it pours a white head of about 1/2" quickly fading into lacing on the glass.

the smell is a pure hop blast & bright sweetness of citrus fruit.

this ale taste like chewing a fresh hop flower. it is VERY bright & VERY bitter unlike any IPA ive ever tasted! hardcore hoppp fans will dig this ale! im tasting grapefruit... very citrus tasting.

the mouthfeel is bright & carbonated & the hop taste on my tongue is sharp.

overall, it's a bit too hoppy for my taste buds these days. a few years back i loved IPA 's & hoppy brews but now i favor a more balanced taste. this would be a nice ale for a beautiful, warm day. maybe a bright day that matches the bright tones of the look & taste of flower power. i might be able to drink 2 of these in one sitting... so, for me, not a session ale. still, for the style it's a damn good drink!

While Flower Power may not smell especially flowery, in fact, it doesn't have much smell at all, it's color and distinctive taste will hit you immediately.

A hazy, golden orange color, it's a nice looking beer in a glass and has an immediate bite when it hits your tongue that lingers for quite a while. No extremely distinctive flavors which stand out, but the immediate bite is great and the beer is full-bodied, which I love.

Overall a good beer which I would buy again.
