Strong butterscotch-like aroma. Murky rust to orange color. Bitter hoppy taste that is a little bit strong at first. Sort of thick in its feel. Leaves an aftertaste that is alkaline. Not much of a flavor, but a strong texture. Not one for all day, though it does conjure up images of my childhood in the 1970s rustbelt, but I am at a loss as to why...

Poured a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. Light copper color with a very thin white head.

Aroma is not very interesting. Some flowery hops with a little malt to back it up but not very balanced, and not very bold.

Taste is of slightly sweet malt up front, and then a mix of bitter hops and hot alcohol in the finish. Not a lot of hop flavor up front really. There is a lingering citrusy flavor long after a sip is done.

A bit thin in the mouth, and highly carbonated.

Not a terribly drinkable beer in my opinion. I will finish this one and move on to something else, or perhaps to bed. The two of these left in the mixed 12-pack I bought will be for others to try and review.

WTF? Picked-up a six-pack at Kappy's in Norwell for about twelve dollars. I have had this brew before, and liked it, however, thought that it fell well short of the hype. This review only pertains to the batch I just bought. I am not sure if it is off, as Bletchley Park could not make sense of the caca-poopy black on brown bottled-on dating. Way too boozy tasting for that ABV, something is rotten in Denmark. #bodthaticanread

Pour at Independence Beer Garden in Philly. Bitterness was fine. Hop flavor - little if any, a little fruity and resinous. More nuttiness from the Malt. Out of Balance.
Maybe I got an old keg but this was ok at best.

A_Pours a clear golden brown hue with a nice off white one finger cap. This fades rather quickly though leaving asmall swish of foam. Lacing is gtood however as there is a modern art masterpiece on the sides of the glass.

S_The smell is redolent of a citric hop profile, mostly orange, slight grapefruit like a tangelo. A decent ammount of doughy bread makes sure this isn't one dimensional.

T_This one is all over the place. What starts out as slightly acidic and sour rushes headlong into a more caramel maltiness. The finish has those tangelo hops but also a bit of raw alcohol flavour. The hop profile here leans more towards the orange/tangerine than grapefruit/tangelo. There is also a perfume like quality generated by the alcohol vapors and the citric and slightly floral hops.

M_medium bodied with a mid range carbonation and a bit chalky.

D_What started out nice, look and smell wise devolved into an utter mess. Just totally out of balance and wierd tasting. Unless given to me, I probably would not go back for a second taste

This new flower power is not what it used to be. It's a mere shadow of 2011 Flower Power. The beer had very little scent. The flavor was faint. This beer could be called "Flower Power light".
It is still a fine beer but it lost it's edge....big time.

12oz bottle from 6-pack poured into pint glass.
Thin, quickly dissipating head lies on top of opaque honey-orange liquid. Mild fruit, flower aroma with hints of caramel. Hop bitterness predominates, lingers, doing a fair job of masking the 8% ABV. Unfortunately that's the best that can be said for the flavor of this IPA. You could drink a couple of these if the alternative is a mass produced offering that boasts "triple hops", but with the plethora of IPA's now available, why?

i got this from the secret santa bif. to be completely honest i had forgotten that i had it. it has been sitting in the back of my fridge for the past month and some change. sadly it seems this is well past its prime. all traces of an ipa have left a malt bomb of a mess. i feel bad that im continuing to review this. hrmm oh well.

pours with a great amount of fluffy white thick well retaining head, that sits above a beautiful copper colored brew.

smells like at one point this had some nice east coast hoppy goodness. sadly that smell is faint, faded and leaves alot to be desired.

taste is along the same lines with the smell. at one point this might have been a decent beer. that time is not today. unbalanced, stale whispers of hops. : /

mouth is alright. smooth. medium bodied. decent amount of carbonation.

i would love to see what this could have been fresh. I will look forward to attempting again this summer.
