Medium to deep amber in color with a small amount of head and minimal lacing.

Pumpkin spices along with sweet malt on the nose but all toned down.

Malt, cinnamon, vanilla, and a hop note on the tongue.

Mouthful is a bit thin but a bit crisp with lower than average carbonation. Finish is a bit dry with lingering spices.

This is a simple pumpkin beer. Nothing special.

Really good, pretty much a perfect pumpkin ale. Not too much spice, a good balance of pumpkin and beer. It almost has a bit of a sour element to it, but not noticeable. Extremely balanced.

Solid rendition of the style. Medium-bodied with a flavorful clove finish. Recommended.

This beer pours an orange amber color with a small white head that disappears rapidly and leaves no lacing. The smell is very subtle. Hints of pumpkin, bready malt and spices. Taste is very similar. There is very little pumpkin flavor to speak of, really there is very little flavor to this beer at all. Reminds me of a less flavorful Yuengling with the smallest hint of pumpkin. Feel is light with little carbonation. Overall pass. I will not be drinking this beer again.

A: While the bottle sounded super carbonated when I cracked it, and I poured this pretty hard, the head dies super fast. Amber/orange in color. Good looking beer. No lacing to speak of.

A: Mild pumpkin spice aroma. Faint —just hints at pumpkin spice.

T/F: Nutmeg, allspice, maybe maple. Still trying to get my pumpkin spices in order when I taste these things but a very light taste of pumpkin. Taste is almost effervescent. You can feel the fizz but the body really lightens up. Spicy, and has a pilsner like feel to it.

O: The pumpkin tastes so-so faint in this. On the plus side that means nothing artificial smelling or tasting. It’s a well-done beer as far as crafting it goes. Almost too clean if that’s possible. “The “touch” of seasonal spices is ever so slight. I probably wouldn’t go for this again, and I don’t know if I’d recommend it for pumpkin beer connoisseurs or newbies. Smuttynoses Pumpkin Ale probably takes the cake for a “light” pumpkin beer that still tastes like pumpkin and there are a ton stronger/imperial ones out there I like better than this. Maybe there is an appeal here for someone who wants a Pumpkin Pilsner?
