Poured from a can into a tulip.

Pours honey-gold with a nice lasting head.

Aromas of pineapple, soap, grass, floral and earthy hops.

Caramel and honey-kissed malts forward with citrus and tropical fruit flavors in midstream. Some solid well-balanced grassy and earthy hops at the finish.

The brew is medium light, well carbonated, and very drinkable.

Very well-balanced.

8/29/19...12oz can. Excellent and excellent! The citra hops really comes out and resonates. Well done CW Brewing. Very palatable and light with a minuscule alcohol aftertaste. 5.3% feels like a session but since it’s not titled as such, I’d suggest trying to bump it up to 6.0%. Jai Lai from Cigar City Brewing is VERY comparable. Nice brew, definitely buy again.

HHG APA pours a bronze color, with not much head. Nice bold hoppy aroma, lots of malts as well, with lots of earth. Flavor is a bit earthy, lots of malts, and lots of hops, with a slightly dry finish. Good body and feel. Overall, a very full, full bodied and flavored pale ale.

Pours rustic orange with a thin, white head. Good carbonation.
Smells of candied citrus and melon.
Good taste of citrus Hop with not much malt balance makes the hop stand out with a dry finish.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a chalice.

Pours a medium straw/honey with a decent fluffy head that recedes to a thick cap with sticky lacing.

Aroma is of resinous hops and slight malt. Quite a juicy hop aroma

Flavor opens with bitterness and yeilds to hops with a tropical profile. This is straight up grapefruit and pineapple. Lacking in malt backing but with the lower ABV it's excusable. The hop flavor is juicy, sweet and tart, amazing.

Mouthfeel is crisp and thin. Carbonation bites the tongue.

Overall, the hops shine like a mf'er here. This is one of the freshest hop flavors I've tasted in a while, like since Hopslam 2012. Very recommended.

I got a bottle of this off the single shelf at a grocery store outside of Milwaukee whilst there for a hockey tournaments. It poured a slightly hazy golden with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of citrus peel. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It smelled of citrus, grapefruit and toasted caramel. It tasted sweet and citrusy with some caramel, toffee and piney bitterness.

On tap. White head with some lace. Clear golden orange color.

Orange peel, grapefruit, and mango. Floral notes. Bready malts. Really solid spa. Tons of flavor. Nice amount of bitterness.

Central Waters consistently produces good beers. When I saw this on the shelf, it was an easy decision to invest in a 6 pack.

12 oz bottle poured into an imperial pint, the beer is a chill hazed copper with a sticky off-white head.

The aroma is of soft tropical fruit and bit of citrus.

The taste is balanced between hops and malts. The hops do end up with a slightly more prominent roll. They have a nice citrus and pine bite with more than a shade of tropical fruit. The malts add a bit of ritz cracker taste with just a hint of caramel.

The mouth is medium and bit coating. The carbonation is subdued.

All-in-all, another nice beer from Amherst, WI.

Opened 3 weeks after the bottle date. Strong citrus and pine aroma. Slightly hazy golden orange, lots of bubbles, 1/2 inch off white head with large bubbles receding fairly quickly, not much lacing. Moderate mouth feel. The malts play enough of a role to keep this out of "hop water" territory, but they are very much in the background; the hops are the star of the show here. Citrus and pine/resin, almost (but not quite) moving into astringent territory. The hops hit on the initial taste and stay with you through to the finish, the pine is more dominant versus the citrus. More bittering than is typical for an APA, but that is more to my taste anyway. Clean finish. Some resiny pine lingers in the aftertaste.

Nice aroma. Very crisp and to the point with mild bitterness. The citrus in this one is spot on and complements the hops perfectly. Another great offering from centeral waters.

Pours a clear, gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and slight lacing. Smells of spicy hops, slight citrus hops, slight sweet malt, hint of yeast, slight caramel malt, and a hint of pale malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. Tastes of citrus hops, floral hops, slight spicy hops, hint of pine, slight sweet malt, and a hint of pale malt. Overall, weak appearance, good aroma, body, and blend, but too carbonated.

I know. I know. I am from Wisconsin so I should love Wisconsin beers, right? [insert Klaxon sound here] EeeeH! Nope. We have plenty of misguided buildings filled with uber expensive stainless steel vats that try to pass themselves off as brew makers - this is the birthplace of Miller for F's sake. BUT... once in a while comes along a quiet, unassuming little no-nuthin' that keeps mostly to itself and then decides one day to walk up and punch you in the face with a fist-full of dankish delight. I give you HHG. Central Waters is an awesome brewery that fancies on the odd-ball mix of fancy and full-on straight-forward beers and I have to tell you, if you like a beer that has an A-load of flavor and hop smack in a nearly Sessionable level of ABV, then by all means, fire up the lawn mower and enjoy the ride with this little dank do-hickey. P.s. Shhhh... it really does smell like weed.

This beer is a slightly cloudy orange color, nice white head, just a nice overall balance and bitterness to make for a very fine enjoyable beer. There is a nice lacing left in the tulip glass. I highly recommend this beer.

IMO, this beer is giving NG's Moon Man stiff competition in the battle for best "indigenous" Wisconsin pale ale. This is a beer I could, well, not all day, but every day.

Clear, but not perfectly clear. Color is rich gold. White persistent foam.
I think I get a classic cascade aroma in the smell, but also a little stonefruit, maybe. Very subtle.
There is a slight miscellaneous fruit (e.g., Smarties candy) to the taste, reminiscent of tart, but ultimately, the malt pulls back and leaves me a slight sweetness.
Not a heavy beer, but there is a slight slick silky mouthfeel.

Very bright yellow, just slightly hazy beer, white foam was very persistent for me. Up front hop aromas of citrus. Taste is balanced with citrus hop flavors. Carbonation is lively, finishes crisp. Very easy drinking pale ale.

Pours a slight hazed yellow color with an off white head ..looks good. Slight hop aroma of citrus and tangerine biscuit malts. Taste follows nose with citrus hops ,and melon cracker meal malts in the finish. Mouth feel was like a session APA sweet and malty with lingering water-downed hops. Very drinkable and would buy again for an APA @ 5%+ it good.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short bright white head that died down, leaving a large collar consisting of large bubbles and delicate lacing covering the remainder of the surface.
S: Light aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose along with underlying notes of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the initial flavors of caramel malts are a bit stronger but the citrusy hops linger into the finish. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The taste of this beer has a good balance between the malts and hops, especially once it warms up a bit.

From a bomber picked up in Duluth, into a shaker while listening to Lake Superior lap against the ledge rock at night. Starts off alright, looking good, golden amber color, a little haze, nice big puffy head with good retention and lacing. Caramalt nose, some dark and wet citrus notes, a little pine; a lot like an amber, but all in all, it doesn't work too well for me. Taste is more of the same, but the citrus disappears...a little more piney bitterness and a lot of caramel malts...pretty one-dimensional. Kind of a soft body (which is a strange mix with the bitterness), middling carbonation...this is okay, but with so many good beers out there, I can't see drinking this one again.

Just sort of randomly came across this and it has worked out well.
I like the aroma on this. Rich, dank, with interesting fruits that are atypical yet somehow also familiar.
Kinda' cloudy and an smaller than average white head.
Nice hop forward flavors without excess on bitterness. Well balanced with malts that play a very firm part on the palate, with a mostly grainy pale malt and not additional sweetness. Very mild dryness on the finish and slight left over flavor from the hops.
Soft fullness in a moderate body.
This is solid.

L (4.25) - Good coloration here--light pale golden with a light white foam.
S (3.5) - Not a lot of aroma here. Not that there needs to be, but I'd have liked more. Just a slight slight slight hop aroma.
T (3.75) - Decent tasting beer. A little one-dimensional in the hop department. I get more of the bitter and pine tastes going on.
F (3.75) - A little thin for my liking. Easy to drink as a result, but a little more watery than necessary.
O (3.75) - Overall this was a decent beer. I had it on tap so maybe the lines were dirty or something, but I just wasn't impressed. I'd drink it again, but I don’t think I'd go out of my way to find it.

Wow. Not much to say other than that. Beautiful golden hue with excellent lacing. You get some dankness and tropical fruits on the nose. Bursts of mango on the front with a bit of bitterness on the end. Nice medium coating of the palate. Wow. Just an excellent beer and I'm glad I got to enjoy it.

I was really unsure whether these bottles would be fresh but it was my first time seeing it a 12 oz. format. Upon opening it, you get hit with a dank, tropical hop aromas, and I was immediately reassured that it was indeed a fresh bottle. Pours a typical pale honey yellow with a slight haze to it and lots of bubbles slowly streaming up towards a fluffy white head. The aroma has plenty of citrus, stone fruit, and pine; digging deeper I nice honey sweet malt base, I'm detecting some Mosaic hops, a tart zestiness, passion fruit, strawberry, green melon, canned peaches, dank resin, and complex grassy notes. The mouth feel was medium and crisp, bitter juiciness up front and ends with a slightly drying pale malt flavor. The taste follows the nose, red grapefruit, mango, peach, blueberry, guava, pine resin, mint, dank herbal notes, sweet biscuit malt backbone. Great balance, reminds me of Lagunitas' Born Yesterday.
