2016 vintage
12oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours a deep brown color with a ruby hue, one finger foamy white head that reduces to a ring around the glass

S- smells of brown sugar, caramel, toffee, oaky bourbon, raisin, fig & Belgian candy sugar

T- caramel and dark fruit notes up front with highlights of raisin and fig, followed by some bourbon barrel notes that brings out some woody notes, as well as a hint of vanilla. The finish gives some more barrel notes but falls off quickly

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and finish

O- pretty tasty with some nice barrel notes, but compared to the benchmark Belgian quads, it's a bit thin and mundane at times

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter. Mahogany in color with a thin 1 finger tan head that quickly fades and only leaves a tracce of lacing on my glass. Aroma is very sweet with loads of toffee and caramel. Notes of vanilla an bourbon are accentuated by very little Belgian yeast and banana. Flavor is scrumptious, but not as Quad driven. Plenty of sweet toffee, caramel, with some softer vanilla and bourbon. No real banana or much dark fruit flavor that I enjoy in a Quad. Feel is lighter with minimal carbonation and a slight syrup finish. It is without a doubt delicious, but I'd score it higher if there was more Quad like flavor. I think they wanted to showcase the awesomeness of their barrels.

2016 release.
Appearance: poured a dark brown with no sediment. Translucent in the light.
Smell: yeast, dark fruits, and sweets. A hint of bourbon, not as much as I expected.
Tasted: very very sweet and rich with dark fruits and yeast throughout. Seriously like candied dark fruits added during the brewing process. Then the bourbon comes in midway and it pairs well with the Quad qualities. It's like drinking bourbon glazed desert pie.
Mouthfeel: medium to full-bodied. The warmth from the alcohol comes in halfway and through the finish.
Overall: much better than the Boulevard BBQ. That beer I use as the baseline and I find this one with more straightforward flavors and not so overwhelming. A tad too sweet for my taste though.

Thanks goes out to sembo for this brew.

12 oz. Bottle
2016 Vintage

Poured into a goblet a very nice dark brown color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger tan head, which leaves a really nice medium size island and some thick/creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some grapes, cherries, figs, plums, raisins, very nice bourbon/oak note, very nice vanilla. The taste is really awesome, malty, with some very nice dark fruits, really nice touch of bourbon/oak, vanilla. Full Body, ABV hidden pretty well, a very nice complex brew, really nice sweetness. Overall, this is an awesome brew. Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks Eric!

Pours a reddish-brown with a tan head.
The aroma is molasses, funk, dark fruit, vanilla, brown sugar and a hint of banana.
Taste is big and sweet with funk, fruit and caramel backed up with vanilla and barrel notes and some boozy warmth.
Mouthfeel is medium and sticky.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a deep brownish ruby with a moderate amount of bubbles. Slight finger of off white head that settles into a thin patch.

Smell: A rich and toasty aroma with a scent of bourbon and caramel malt. Upfront barrel presence with a big scent of bourbon whiskey, oak, vanilla, and wood. Malt hints of caramel, toffee, biscuit, and toast. Belgian yeast with some hints of clove. Dark fruit hints of fig, prune, raisin, and dates. Also some fruit hints of apple and banana. Sweet hints of candied sugar. A very good aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a rich and toasty taste with lots of bourbon and caramel malt. Upfront barrel presence with notes of bourbon whiskey, oak, vanilla, and wood. Sweet and bready malt notes of caramel, toffee, biscuit, and toast. Belgian yeast with notes of clove and pepper spice. Dark fruit undertones of prune, raisin, fig, and dates. Dried fruit notes of banana and apple. Sweet taste of candied sugar. A very good rich taste.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy, slick, and fairly syrupy. Alcohol heat is minimal.

Overall: Another great Barrel Aged brew from Central Waters. Very good big bourbon presence with some nice complex fruit undertones.

A - Pours a murky brown with no head at all.
S - Aroma is raisins, leather and booze.
T - Taste is sweet, raisins, some dark cherry and boozy.
M - Carbonation is low. Flavor sticks to my mouth.
O - A very restrained BB Quad. I enjoyed this beer but I was hoping for more.

Clear deep amber color with some beige foam. Aroma has lots of dried fruits like raisins and dates, also brown sugar, candied fruits, butterscotch, toffee and bourbon in the background. Taste starts slightly sweet and sugary with the dried fruit notes but gets quickly overtaken by an earthy, woody bitterness. Aftertaste lingers with bourbon and toffee flavor. Medium body and carbonation. A bit warm but the flavors are integrated really well.

12 oz. bottle. Deep amber body. Big off-white head. Smells of booze, bananas, toffee and caramel. Tastes a touch acidic up front. Dark fruits. Bread. Not as sweet as I expected. A little bourbon in the middle, but it gets stronger and sharper in the finish. Boozy bite. Medium heavy. It's just a little rough, but it's surprisingly good for an American quad.

Pours a slightly murked up hazel with a pinky of cream colored head. Okay lacing & head retention

S: Figs, slight Bourbon notes. Bourbon, vanilla & fig are more prominent once warm

T: Follows the nose, woody dryness, & a little vanilla up front. Bourbon asserts itself as it warms, leafy hops, a little sour cherry & figs. Fishishes with booze, cherry, barrel dryness & figs

MF: Medium body, firm carbonation, even a little grainyness

Very nice Quad, the barrel aging brings a lot to the party!
