Got in a trade with GreenBayBA. 12 oz bottle poured into Central Waters snifter. Pours a mango-orange glow with a creamy head of 1 finger. Stays firm at 1/2 finger.

Aroma of oranges and bitter orange rind, slight pineapple, hop funk, and beery grains.

The flavor is a bit more bitter than expected, but still rather good. Bitter orange peel, hop oils, bitter pineapple, more hop dust, slight cracker, and an aftertaste of dry hop, a lot of amarillo and some cascade, and faint sweet bread on the finish.

Feel is semi-creamy, has a tight carbonation profile but not overly prickly, and an oily, slightly dry finish.

Overall, this beer isn't half bad. I was expecting more of a tropical vibe (I wonder why) and I got a very midwestern IPA with gratuitous amarillo dry hopping. Was hoping for something a little more juicy and fruity, but that's okay, I like beer.

Where is a slightly hazy rustic Orange with lots of carbonation. A two-finger foamy White head.
Smells of bitter, Citrus Heights in plenty of malt.
Not overly bitter with citrus hops an slight pine. Orange really comes out, very slight pineapple in the finish, even more slight coconut.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium.

Looked good on paper. Smelled good in the glass with a nice pour. This just didnt come together. Bitterness is a bit off putting and seems to fight with the coconut and almost acidic citrus flavors. Mouthfeel very light, not much body.

22 oz. bottle split with my wife as Jimmy Buffet begins singing in my head. Thanks Central Waters.

The pour looks like an innocent young IPA: sunshine reflecting off of copper (probably mined within the sanctity of the BWCA watershed – fuck you, PolyMet). Uh, the nose is solid coconut cut with citrus, which gives me mixed feelings down below. Odd.

Caught in the Rain probably looked good on paper. In the glass & mouth, this doesn’t work nearly so well. Raw coconut straight off the banana tree mixes with the hops – not sure which one is bringing the hard-core bitterness, but the two are sparring like Tango & Cash. Touch of pineapple, orange, with a long, lingering resinous body that tars up the palate. Can’t imagine drinking more than half a bottle of this.

Even my Central Waters fanboydom can’t overcome the weird mingling of tastes in this beer. Coconut good, IPA good, pineapple good – throw them into the universal blender & what comes out is a sub-mediocre effort.

Hazy amber with sticky, drippy lace above a thick, white ring that settled down from a large white foam.

Smell is pine, onion, fresh jalapeno?!, with dank and sweaty peach.

Taste is mint but vegetal with pineapple, vanilla, and a sort of bunch of wild weeds. This is almost like a saison, but not? I think something's going wrong here.

Frothy soft with a medium, semi-wet almost watery body.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a deep amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A juicy and earthy hop driven aroma with a scent of citrus, pineapple, and coconut. Citrus hop scent of orange peel, grapefruit, mango, tangerine, and lemon along with some pineapple juice. Earthy hop scent of pine and grass. Sweet hints of coconut. Malt hints of caramel, grains, and cracker with yeast. A pretty nice aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and earthy hop driven taste with notes of citrus, pineapple, and coconut. Citrus hop notes of grapefruit, orange peel, tangerine, mango, and lemon along with pineapple juice. Some sweet notes of coconut. Malt notes of caramel, grains, and cracker along with some yeast. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, fairly oily, and drying.

Overall: A very nice twist on an IPA. Nice blend of hop notes with the added pineapple and coconut.

650ml bottle. Served in a Central Waters snifter. Pours a darker caramel orange body, one finger white head, short retention and not much lacing. Smell is tart pineapple, grapefruit and citrus, touch of caramel, honey and biscuit. The hops are fairly strong here. The coconut doesn't really come across on the aroma, aside from a slightly metallic presence. Flavour is interesting, with the aforementioned pineapple, grapefruit, citrus zest along with mild caramel sweetness, but the coconut comes out in the middle of the taste and lingers around for a while. It's legitimate coconut juice, rather than the toasted coconut flavours that we have gotten used to in our adjunct stouts. Pretty interesting and it works more and more as I sip on it more. Mouthfeel is medium-lighter bodied, slightly thin but expected given the specific adjuncts. Mild bitter zest, along with a coconut flavoured sugary sweetness on the backend. An interesting IPA, I liked it although it wouldn't be one I would necessarily buy again.

Hazy amber with a dense head. Aroma is pineapple, citrus, and a hint of coconut. Smells great. The coconut is much more prevalent in the flavor. But it does not overwhelm or gets cloying. However I do not feel it works well with this bitter with a bunch of citrus and pineapple flavor. Slightly sweet malt backbone. Solid body and carbonation. Interesting combination of flavors that just does not work for me.

Undated bomber.

Pours a cloudy medium amber color. 1.5 finger head. Good retention and lacing.

Smells like pineapple and citrus. Definitely get coconut as well.

Coconut comes through strongly in the taste. Pineapple, grapefruit, and other tropical fruits as well. Definitely bitter and fruity.

Feel is medium to light. High carbonation.

Overall, a tasty flavored IPA great for a hot day. Only seek this one out if you like coconut! It is definitely front and center in the taste.

This beer pours a clear orange with an average head. The aroma is fruity and tropical, with pineapple, mango, coconut, vanilla, and tangerine peel. The flavor is nicely mellow and fruity, with orange juice, pineapple, coconut, vanilla, and low bitterness. The mouthfeel is light a quite fizzy. Overall this is a tasty and fun beer - it does just what it says on the label, and does have a very relaxed beach feel.

Poured 22oz bottle into snifter. It is clear and golden with a nice 2 finger white head. It dissipates moderately and a ring lingers around the glass with lacing noticeable along the sides of the glass. Bitter and slight floral hop notes with prominent noted of crushed pineapple and hints of coconut along with a touch of sweet malt. It starts off with some bitter pine hops and citrus followed by a touch of sweet caramel from the malts. The finish is heavy with pineapple and a lingering flavor of coconut. Nice carbonation and a slightly resinous mouthfeel. Kind of sticky and dry afterwards. This was fun and quite enjoyable as a flavored IPA.
