Pours a Coca-Cola color with a tiny tan head. Good lacing. Smells of oatmeal and coffee. Taste is the same, but with hints of chocolate. Mouthfeel is light for a porter. Overall not a bad porter.

smells like vanilla. Very creamy and smooth tasting. All day drinkability. The feel is nothing special.

Pours deep dark brown. Thin tan head. Looks like a pretty standard porter.

Smell has notes of chocolate, roasted malts,

Taste has notes of chocolate, roasted malts, cocoa, and some mild hoppy bitterness on the finish. Flavor is a bit watered down with it being more pronounced on the back end. Bit dry on the finish.

Feel is light, thin, easy drinking, medium carbonation.

Overall a nice solid porter.

Pours dark brown like coffee, couple fingers of beige foamy head that subsides quickly.

On the nos, chocolate stands out, a little bit of vanilla, and a fruity note I cant plac, but it seems to not belong. Mild roastiness, light sweetness.

The taste is OK. Getting a bit of bitterness, the chocolate thankfully does not overpower, a minty herbal note that I dont care for, mildly sweet. The bitterness is quite sharp, but short-lived.

The mouthfeel is thin and the beer is too carbonated for the style. Flavors are pretty clean, though with nothing much lingering.

Overall, it is what it is...a decent but not outstanding porter. Easy drinking, but decidedly a middle of the road, lowest common denominator kind of beer. Recommended, but temper the expectations and I wouldn't spend a ton of time looking for it. Good for a mxed crowd.

Look: Pours nearly black, but a dark cola color is revealed in light. A half inch of creamy tan head laid on top, although it quickly went down to a thin film that covered the top for the rest of the session.

Smell: Chocolate is the obvious aroma that stands out. A bit of roasted malt and maybe even a little marshmallow in there too. Reminds me of smores at a camp fire.

Taste: I expected this to be dominated by chocolate flavors, but I was surprised to taste a lot of dark fruit. Raisins and possibly a little blueberry sweetness as well. Not bitter what so ever. Chocolate is there too with a little nuttiness, and it's balanced really well. Once the sweetness fades away, a nice slightly charred flavor is left on the palate. I really enjoyed the flavors in this brew.

Feel: More carbonation than I'm used to with a porter, but it works well with this beer. Also a little less creamy than I expected, this porter is on the lighter bodied side. More refreshing than most porters.

Overall: I really enjoyed drinking this beer. A very pleasant aroma, a well balanced taste, and a refreshing quality makes this a definite winner for me.

Vile. Headachey. I've tried 2 different brews from Central Waters. I love a dark beer especially a stout or porter. I tried a stout from central waters. It was very inconsistent. Even the amount of beer in each bottle varied. My glass filled about an inch less from the top to almost to the brim depending what beer I opened in the same case. The aroma varied between a hint of coffee and chocolate to straight sh** the next bottle. Also got a huge headache. I could feel the vein in my temple throbbing. I chalked it up to dehydration. I decided to try there Mud Puppy Porter. Same thing. inconsistent from bottle to bottle. I even drank a lot of water in the hours before hand. same thing. huge headache. drink this if you want a migrane.

Mudpuppy are gross looking creatures let's hope this beer is not. Popping the top I get a little black licorice and sweet malt. Pours to an opaque black with a light tan fine bubble head. Taste is rather subdued chocolate and roasted malt with a mild bitterness throughout. A very balanced easy drinker with great flavors but not overbearing.
