What an awesome coffee stout. Many times brewers go to heavy on the coffee note. This I feel is a great mild coffee stout and is very drinkable.

Nose is obviously coffee but also has a deep caramel smell that is so awesome it makes you want to stop smelling and drinking! The beer has a pretty long aftertaste, but with a good stout you already expect this.

I would totally recommend this beer to others that don't normally like coffee stouts. I just wish you could get this in Illinois!!

This baby pours like a milkshake. Looks viscous as it pours and creates a rich looking head of brown cream. Pitch black body. Lace comes in sheets. This smells like a cup of the finest joe. Scratch that. This smells like a cup of high quality coffee blended with a milkshake. And the flavor coats the mouth in layers. Layers of caramel, French roast coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla nougat, heavy cream and bitter deep roasted coffee bean. Lots of complexity and lots of flavor. The mouthfeel is damn smooth and creamy. There's a lingering bitterness derived from the coffee. Very slight alcoholic presence, but it really gets lost in the bitterness of the roasted malts and coffee grains. This is way too easy to drink. It's like putting back a coffee flavored milkshake.

This is just flat out phenomenal. Outstanding. I've had some great coffee beers in the past, but this takes the cake. Mark another notch on the bedpost for Central Waters....and give me a cigarette. This is the second beer from them that I've given straight 5's. (See Kosmyk Charlie for the first.)
