Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip pint glass.

A: Slightly hazy, light amber color with over one finger of off-white foam head. Heavy lacing remains on the glass and diffuse solitary bubbles rise in the column.

S: Bready malt is found to be in balance with citrusy hop aromas. The hops tend to be one-note but relatively intense, even with the presence of carbon dioxide erasing some.

T: Begins dry, with peppery herbaceous and grapefruit citrus hop aromatics. Malt is understated early, with pale qualities showing a touch of caramel. Moderate acidity provides continuity into the middle, where bready malt and lingering hop flavors are balanced and clean, if a little papery. The finish is green-herbaceous, with intense bitterness of long duration.

M: Thin to medium viscosity, acidic and slightly sticky on the palate, with moderate carbonation.

D/O: This IPA seems appropriate to the Midwestern scene, sharing a profile of sensory qualities similar to Bell's Two-Hearted. The hop bill seems to call repeatedly upon the Cascade cultivar, which makes this beer seem similar to many others. It is well-executed but fairly safe, re-emphasizing the classic features of the American IPA style rather than expanding into new territory.

light reddish hues, white head. Piny and oily smell. Hops in the front. Toasty sweetbread. Mouthfeel a little oily. Heavyier than the alcohol would lead to assume. Not very sessionable.

Purchased at Pinocchion's in Media, PA. Bottled in October 2010, so it's fairly old. 12oz bottle served in DFH pint glass.

A: Somewhat hazy amber color. One finger white head. Good carbonation. There is some floating sediment in the glass with the bubbles.

S: I got some piney hops with a little citrus but not tons. I did get some malts though.

T: This tastes old....because it is for an IPA. There are some hops, but it's too malty. The balance is off. The bite is there but it's not great.

M: It's mild and easy drinking. Watery in IPA standards.

O: One and done. If fresh it might be a different story. There are lots of better IPAs out there though.
