A present from GreenbayBA

Pours a viscous, inky, oily black, very little head.

Nose is toasted marshmallow and campfires....it’s killer.

Taste is bourbon, vanilla, with nice oak on the finish.

Smooth and silky, and a little alcohol burn in the finish, but in a pleasant way.

Awesome beer...love it.

This is a very nice beer. Smell and taste are right there where one would want the to be. Only minor probably in mouthfeel from either carbonation or hops. It will be interesting to see how this might change over time. Another Central Waters winner !

12 oz bottle, poured into Crane snifter.

Deep inky black with brown edging and a khaki head of 1/2 finger receding to a thin ring.

The nose is just amazing. Tons of sticky pecan and caramel and brown sugar and pecan syrup. The woody nuttiness of the pecans is there as well, bringing complexity to it. Some dusty oak barrel, some sweet bourbon that is definitely eclipsed by the sweetness of the pecan but it's there; slight chocolate, and more huge caramel.

Flavor brings intense charred/burnt malt and pecan sandies. Addition of sweet caramel, nuts, herbal hops, and some bourbon barrel brings added complexity.

Feel is sticky and hot, with a busy carbonation, with hop resin and lingering tingling heat on the finish. Dries out the tongue a bit as well.

Overall, this is a tasty new addition to CW's barrel stout program. I'd like a little less presence of the herbal hops and less harshness of the roasted malt. Even though it's not branded as such, it comes so close to being a pastry stout that you want it to be one - but sells you short in that regard (makes you try to grasp for something sweeter but it's just out of reach.) Solid beer overall.

Price paid : $16.99 / 4 pack
Would buy again : maybe

12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 5/12/20, had 8/13/20.

Pours a dark brown, mostly opaque, with a half inch foamy head and light, soapy lacing. Aromas of lots of buttered pecans, some chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, caramel, light bourbon. The flavor also begins with buttered pecans, then bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, some brown sugar, light oak, a light bitterness on the finish. Smooth, a very good full body, well carbonated.

You can smell those pecans from six inches away, and they are excellent in both the aroma and flavor. Solid, complimentary aromas and flavors, and while it’s less barrel centered than most in the BR series, it’s really enjoyable.

Black body with brown highlighting and head. Butter pecan dipped in bourbon with brown sugar, caramel and cinnamon aromas, if I dig I get vanilla and chocolate too, just incredible. Taste is liquid butter pecan with bourbon and airy baking spices and the minor other supporters from the nose, but make no mistake, the butter pecan-bourbon-brown sugar trinity is the clear star of this beer. Body stays light but plenty thick, booze is present but not hot at all, some spiced sense to the finish. Never had a beer nail the certain flavor elements like this one has, bravo!

Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Pecan Kringle Stout pours black, with a very small, and barley lacing head. Very rich and sweet aroma, pastry crème notes, with pecans. Flavor is also very rich and sweet, lots of sweet candied pecans, frosting, hints of barrel, and then more pecans. Very good body and feel. Overall, fantastic full of flavor, is on the sweeter side, very desert like.

Poured kinda thin, not highly viscous. The aroma was unreal. Pretty much like the Kringle I remember eating. There’s pecans and that classic icing. A touch is barrel but the icing really takes over. But then the taste was kinda disappointing. There’s chocolate, little pecans, and some barrel, but so much sweetness. It’s kinda one dimensional, not so complex like many of their good BA stouts. It was a little thin In the moth which didn’t help with the sweetness. If something is going to be sticky and sweet, it should have body in my opinion. Overall the aroma was the best part, smells like a pastry!
