its weird that this says it has artificial flavors in it, it doesnt taste all that cheap or unnatural to me, and it certainly isnt priced like a budget drink that would necessitate something other than real fruit. its also over five years past its printed on best by date, but there is no sign of this really falling off at all, its a lambic base still from what i can tell, and even with some fruit fade should be stable and good for a long time. this has a dull brick red tone to it, a little brown looking, maybe has muted up over time, a little bit of bubbling but not a lot of head collecting, not overly attractive in the glass, but it has an awesome nose, big raspberry jam character, straight out of the jar, ready for toast. very little lambic apparent to me underneath all the fruit, but it seems relatively natural to me and really smells nice, sweet as it is, the fruit is great. the flavor is kind of similar, a little tang at the very end, more as it warms, and then a sort of candied sweetness that tastes a touch more concentrated and unnatural than it smells, but still really good. the grain is minimal and the funk and sourness are almost not even here at all, definitely one of the sweeter more fruit driven takes on the style, less fermentation character than i like, but the overall quality of the product is there even so. i wish it had more carbonation, and it does taste like its on a bit of a downswing in terms of freshness, but this was better than expectations. i wish it was a little more lambic forward, but if you like them jammy and sweet, this will hit the mark for sure. seems maybe overpriced to me, at least where i got it, but an enjoyable drink nevertheless...

Beer poured from the 12.7 ounce bottle into a goblet.

The beer is surprisingly heady, leaving a two-finger thick layer atop the liquid. The head looks chewy and creamy and is persistent. Carbonation continues to rise from within long after the pour. As for color, the beer is the color of a dark plum.

The smell is all raspberry with maybe a slight wheatiness. Spiciness emerges at the backend. It's that simple.

The taste is of course dominated by raspberry, but there is a cider like quality as well. The beer sort of ranges from being a cider to a soda or a dry brut style wine. Really interesting to drink with the intense carbonation alongside the dryness.

Overall, a tasty treat, but like a cider or wine, something I'd drink rarely and probably more during the spring and summer months.

a beautiful clean ruby red pour with 2 fingers of pink colored head, slow dissipation, and lots of lacing left behind. i have never seen a lambic so bright and vibrant. traces of wheat are still recognizable over all the delicious smelling berries.. not sure what elderberry is supposed to smell like, but what i smell is wonderful, definitely getting raspberry as well. wow, this is a wonderful flavor in a beer.. almost tastes like children's medicine but very subtle-like.. a sweetness from the malt and fruit, lots of tart and acids from the berries.. just wonderful really. the only thing i can compare it to is new glarus raspberry tart, but i don't remember it being this tart. it's been a year or so - i may need to refresh my mind. medium body, medium carbonation - tart and refreshing.

this is a wonderful fruit lambic.. not too much of a hit on the wallet either, this could be a nice treat once in a while. definitely pick this up and give it a shot.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy light pinkish amber with a light pink head. Light scent of raspberry and malt. The mouth gets some tartness to go along with the sweetish flavor.

Pours a nice slightly hazy reddish color with pink head. Raspberries, a light funk, some oak, and sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with lingering raspberry fruity notes.

Amber reddish color with a thick two finger head with good retention and leaving laces.
Nice predominant aroma of raspberries with a Lambic tartness. Hints of caramel malt and wood.
Intense sweet taste of ripped raspberries with a clear tartness base. Occasionally funky. Hints of lemon, soap, sweetener and oak. Dry and acid aftertaste.
Medium body with low carbonation with tiny bubbles.
It is just overly sweet (why the hell they even added sweetener?). Though, it should be a good pairing with desserts.
