Poured from the bottle into a Belgian tulip.
Here's a pretty beer. A plum-colored liquid with a slight haziness and trickles of carbonation, the pour produces a 3/4s of a finger thick head. The head is a bright white color with shades of purple.
Long streaks of lace extend diagonally about the glass as I progress in drinking it.
Mort Subite is heavy on the raspberry and plum aromas, as these hit your nose with intensity. The aroma is thick with sweetness as well. These profiles continue to the flavor, which deviates very little from what my nose was getting. Their is a pleasant tartness, very contained but adding some colorfulness to the brew. This beer is light and almost champagne-like, making it refreshing to drink.
It takes me a while to notice, but there's a sweet, subtly malty finish that lingers with the tartness and spritzer-like sensation on my tongue.
Mort Subite Original Kriek pulls no punches. You want a light, easy-drinking beer with some potent raspberry flavor, this is the beer for you. I bet I could get my wife to love this.
