Poured from a 1 pint can into A Shaker pint glass, "best by" date December 2017.

APPEARANCE: pours a clear amber color, the nitro effect was not very pronounced, it did not give the cascading effect I would expect, possibly defective, there was a one-finger white head with excellent retention, significant lacing on the glass, very poor nitro.

SMELL: there is a roasted and metallic note and some bread, very faint to the nose.

TASTE: I don't like it, just a burnt, metallic taste and it's flat as a pancake.

PALATE: medium body and flat.

OVERALL: this is one of the lowest ratings I have ever given to a beer, please avoid this beer at all costs, there are no redeeming qualities what so ever, I hate this beer, clearly the British empire is in decline.

This was poured into an English pint glass. The appearance was a gentle hazy orange to brown color with a one finger soft white foamy head that once it dissipated there was some really nice soapy clingy lacing gracing the sides of the glass. The smell had a nice English maltiness (construed to some as being "soapy") but if anything I understand it to be the English malts aligning themselves with the fuggles hops. So, eventually, a decent sweet toffee with a light caramel does come out. The taste was mainly sweet with a toasty edge to it. Light toffee comes forth and spreads out around my taste buds. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body and rolls really smooth and creamy all around. Overall, pretty nice English pale ale when one looks at it as the style.

The creamy cascade that I remember from the Claddagh bar in Montreal where I first had this. The Blonde Guinness. Aroma is hops, barley, honey, butter. Lacks some carbonation. but the light creaminess of it makes it a joy to drink. Taste is also watery, but sweet and pleasant. A very unique classic beer.

Looks great - light Amber/ orange with a shaving cream head

Smells of floral hop, backed with a slight sweet malt then something bad

Tastes sweet malt, tiny bitterness from the hop but there is something bad mixing in

Feel is thin and low carbonated which is fine for the style

Overall this beer isn't too good. What ever good things it has going for it are hugely offset by the metallic, tinnyness that permeates the nose and taste and that destroys this beer. Fullers, Old Speckled Hen, Trooper, Tetley's, Samuel Smith all make MUCH better samples of the style. Pick up one of those and leave this stuff in the cooler. C'MON FULHAM!!!

Fake cask beer, what else is there to say but nasty. Cask beer is definitely an acquired taste. This is an unfair review because i can't drink'em.

Decanted into a tulip pint glass; 23 Oct 2017 stamped on the bottom of the can. Pours a light copper color; after separation and clearing, nice retention of half inch, eggshell white head. Slightly citrus in nose, tastes sweet with a little bitter hoppiness, closing without aftertaste. An great, old standby.

The pour on this beer is really great, nitro beers are always fun to watch. Leaves a great fluffy white foam. There isn't much smell to speak of, lightly floral hops. Very light flavorless beer. Its light, easy drinking and silky smooth from the nitro. Not a bad beer, not really great, its just an easy drinking pub ale.

DATE: March 5, 2017... OCCASION: first Sunday feast during the season of Lent... GLASSWARE: Hop Devil nonick... quite a spectacle straight from the can, with a cascading effervescence that roils up the glass that piles a thick, steady snow pack of white... body is honey amber, with the slightest traces of bubbles around... soft buttery notes begin the aroma... some malty traces, but tough to notice more... a dank, bar rag aroma lingers, which doesn't endear it... sips a creamy, understated body--almost light-bodied--that lingers on the teeth moderately... a thin maltiness finishes... some citrus hints--lemon grass, mostly--with apple, butter, and basement... maybe a bit better than the sum of its parts, as it encourages the next sip as a "pub" ale should, with mild bitterness and crushability, but not among the pub ales I would suggest or serve to others....

I bought a four pack from a local bottle shop. They were fairly cheap. There was a code on the bottom of the can but no date. I'm guessing the date was in Julian. After chilling the cans for about three hours I carefully cracked one open and then using the 45 degree angle technique poured the contents into a nonic pint glass. Once settled the color was amber and a nice two finger thick head. The beer smelled of white bread crust but it was faint. Upon sipping it tasted smooth, creamy, and slightly sweet. A decent amount of lacing. The mouth feel was creamy, a little slick, but refreshing. Over all not a bad beer even if it is mass produced. I think they did a nice job with the can and widget. Normally I would have deducted for it being owned by Inbev but unlike Bass they did a nice job. I noticed The Bros said this beer was awful. Well they can go FUCK OFF. This is a good beer.
