Titanic Brewery "Plum Porter"
cask via handpump @ Ship & Mortar, Liverpool, UK on 1 MAY 2015

Notes: Dark brown with ruby highlights beneath a thin head of khaki.Good head retention and lacing. Fruity in the nose with some caramel and dark chocolate. There's some plum in the flavor but it's tempered by the dark malts. The caramel malts come through as well, which is nice, and not always the case with porters. Subtly buttery. Moderate to median bitterness balances. Some earthy/dark skinned fruit character gives it a touch of astringency - dry finish with some mild grassy and leafy hops and fruit lingering. Medium-light in body and smooth via cask-conditioning. Remarkably balanced and drinkable while still being a bit of an eye opener (unusual).

Sreved on Hand Pump at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham into an English half pot.

Mid brown in colour with a ruby hue, very light in colouration compared to a typical porter. Small white head upon serving but this quickly dissipated.

A sweet plum and floral aroma, certainly smelt like what it said it was on the tin!

In the taste, even 'plummier'! Quite a sweet tasting beer, but not overbearing, but glad I only went with a half pint as I've not got a massive sweet tooth! Maybe some other fruits in the background?

Also some caramel and sugars, slight trace of nuts in the background but very subtle in this respect - it really is all PLUM !!!

Finishes with a bitter sweet aftertaste where as when supping it is all sweet

Mouthfeel was not as you'd expect from a porter, that said it is a 'thin' porter and hardly resembles what you'd expect from the style

Not a watery beer, a good mouthfeel, just not what you'd expect before ordering!

I'd have this again, just stick to a half unless you've a sweet tooth!

Bottled. Very dark chestnut brown. Thick head.
I detected the plum immediately along with some caramel malt.
Demi-sec fruit flavour with a light astringent finish.
Quite smooth and drinkable.

Bottle from Lidl.
Wanted to try this for a while, quite a surprising beer. Very interesting.
This beer changes quite a lot during each mouthful, starts very sweet fruits but quickly transitions to bitter English style hops. It is actually very bitter to my palate and it has a roasted almost burnt toast finish. Glad I bought three bottles.

Bottled
Black body with huge foaming off white head
Big aroma too , full on blackcurrant hubba Bubba nightmare
The flavour is that olde sweet shoppe favourite , blackcurrant liquorice
Not hugely beery but nice

Contains natural plum flavouring. Pours brown/amber, small head. Aroma plums. Low bitterness. Sweet then astringent finish. Overall: A wonderful fruit beer. If it could get a supermarket listing, it would make the brewery millions!
