Plaza Spirit Shop was one of the first liquor stores I visited when I moved to Connecticut from FL and I have continued ot visit it from time to time. This store caries a large selection of beer, wine, and liquor. They also offer tastings of wine and beer on a very regular basis, seems like most times I walk in there they're offering something. although not the hugest beer selection in the area, they have a very respectable lineup of all the local brews and many imports. Several coolers as well as a long aisle of beer. What I want to emphasize most about this store is the excellent service. Several times they have gone out of their way to seek out and stock a beer I was looking for. One day this summer I mentioned I was looking for the Magic Hat HiPA and the next week I came in and they had a case set aside for me, can't beat that!

tucked away in a seemingly dead corner of Burr Corners Plaza, Plaza Spirit Shop is a large liquor store. Most of the store is dedicated to wine and liquor, there is one aisle of craft and imported beers. A larger than average selection, and the prices are decent, but Manchester Wine and Liquors about 1/2 mile away has a much larger selection, more singles, and better service/prices. The service and prices here are good, but it is drowned out by the local competition. What they do have, while good is carried elsewhere. Things like Sammy Smiths and Sierra Nevada, no diamonds in this rough.

A good friend brought me to Plaza Spirit Shop in Manchester recently. He buys most of his beer from here and had nothing but great things to say.

It's your typical large package store vibe with the beer selection showcased in the back. The selection of beers is awesome. I was really surprised. Last time I was here was probably a couple of years ago and things have gotten much, much better. Incredible selection of both warm beers on multiple shelves as well as beers stocked in the cooler. You name it and they probably have it. They have Dogfish Head World Wide Stout, 120 IPA and Raison D'Extra for about $7.50, which is the probably lowest I've seen. It was nice to see Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner and Rogue Imperial Stout, two great beers. Their prices are reasonable across the board. Excellent beers from Brooklyn Brewery, Victory, Rogue, Anchor, Magic Hat, Unibroue, and Thomas Hooker. They didn't have any of 1.5 liter Thomas Hookers. I was hoping to find the Hooker Imperial Porter and their barleywine, but no luck. The employee told me that they got a large order in and sold out shortly after. All the major European beers from Belgium, Germany, etc. are here too.

This is a really good store and certainly worth stopping by to stock up. Service was par for the course and the selection will leave any BA happy.

This place is located in a big shopping center, very near RT. 84 just north of Hartford. Its also very near (5mins) the outstanding Disc Golf course in Wickham Park, Manchester, CT. Anyway back to beer. Basic box of a place, walking through an arch of Bud boxes by the door set the tone. Macros rule this place. What interesting beer they did had was fairly minor in size and not a heck of a lot of interesting stuff. They did have the basics that everybody has, but not much beyond that. I didnt waste too much time here. This place would, of course, do in a pinch, but if looked like the owners didnt put too much effort into the more interesting side of beer. Go to Manchester wine and Ale down the road 3 mins for more beer excitement.

Loacted in the Burr Corners plaza, which is across from the movie theatre and near the Buckland Hills mall, this place is pretty easy to find.
Walking inside, it looks more or less like your typical liquor store. Lots of ads for various beers, malternatives, wines, and liquors. Their beer selection, however is much better than your run of the mill packie. They have an aisle devoted to beer, plus a big cooler strething across the back wall. The aisle is where you'll find most of your interesting beers, and they have single bottles laid out next to six packs for your sampling pleasure. The selection isn't terribly extensive, but they have a few unusual offerings, including locally brewed beers, and a bunch of eastern european offerings.
Service is pretty good. If you want something, they're happy to try and get it for you. None of the employees I've spoken to know much about beer, but they'll try to accomodate you. Prices are reasonable as well.
Make sure you check freshness dates, because I've gotten a few old beers from here. If you're in doubt, ask an employee, who probably won't know. Craft beer doesn't move terribly fast in this store.
Worth a stop if you're in the area.
