Very Good
DetourDetour
Notes: In the spirit of scenic routes, back roads and uncharted waters, Muskoka Detour is a refreshingly adventurous beer for those who prefer to stray from the everyday. Dry-hopped and brewed as a sessionable IPA, it delivers a rewarding tropical aroma and a taste less travelled. A low ABV to enjoy all day long.

This is nice, gentle IPA. There is just enough piney hop flavour to help you remember what you are tackling. The taste is lovely - fruity, light and very easy to drink. I could see this disappearing in a big hurry on a warm summer day.

Poured from 350 ml cans, which are difficult to find in Canada (at least at the LCBO). Purchased at Sobey's. It' s a decently flavorful session beer. Mild, but tasty fruit/hop/bitterness. In fact, I enjoyed a couple from a four pack.

Appearance: It has a nice hazy golden/orange color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of citrus, grapefruit, faint pine, bready malts and some caramel.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some citrus and grapefruit (very tropical), light grassy/piney bitterness, bready malts and sweet caramel.

Mouthfeel: It has a low/medium carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas.

I bought a sample pack whilst in Hamilton for my son's hockey tournament. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of citrus peel and pine. The taste is nicely balanced with citrus peel and pine presence. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Slight hazy unfiltered. Light hoeny colour. Quarter inch of head that quickly went to a slick and then a ring. Waves of carbonation. Left spots of lacing.

Sharp citrus aroma. Grapefruit, lemon and mano. Great.

More pine than citrus in the taste. One dimensional. Not complex. Earthy flintly bitterness.

Medium dry feel.

I miss the malt and more complex hops mix. But this is a great sessionable (4.3%) IPA.

Appearance - Pours a light gold colour with a finger width of bubbly white head.

Smell - Citrus hops, passion fruit, tropical fruit aromas, bready malts, caramel.

Taste - Mildly bitter citrus hops, passion fruit and citrus peel, along with bready caramel-like malts. Bitterness is fairly mild from start to finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall - Quality tropical fruit and citrus fruit aromas/flavours that make this brew very sessionable. I would like to see more hops presence, as they are dialed down in the taste.
