First brewed in1996, our flagship Muskoka Cream Ale has since become a signature beer of the Muskoka region. Unmistakable with its rich amber colour and inviting floral tones, this laid-back English pub-style ale is smooth and easy-going. With a Cascade hoppiness and fuller body of flavour, this gold-medal winning Canadian Cream Ale is the quintessential taste of cottage country. Raise a glass.

Muskoka Brewery "Cream Ale"
11.5 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, "ENJOY BEFORE MAY 09 2017" and sampled on MARCH 24 2017
$1.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Look: Although it's unfiltered it's still a fairly clear deep copper beneath a short head of off-white. Limited head retention and average lacing.

Smell: Malty with some caramel and a light waft of hops.

Taste: As the aroma suggests with a bit more floral and grassy hops. The caramel is not overdone, and it's not too malty, but still very full of flavor. Nicely balanced by a stiff bitterness that leads to a dry finish.

Feel: Medium bodied and crisp. Zesty on the tongue, and then smooth once it's warmed a bit.

Overall: A solid offering. It's basic but good, and sometimes that's all a beer needs to be. Highly drinkable. A good beer to relax with at the end of the day as the sun sets.

Refrigerated can of Muskoka Cream Ale poured into a glass February, 2017.

Good amber color with a white head that falls slowly. Only a very slight haze is evidence of the unfiltered character. Very little aroma (but the beer was poured cold). The brewery describes this as British style, but it is actually a light amber ale like many North American brews of the late 20th century (Labatts 50, Molson Export, Genesee Cream Ale).

Flavor is mild, with a balanced malty, hoppy character. The flavor accompanied by a full mouth feel. I think this is a good example of a very enjoyable ale that is not heavy or high in alcohol.

I bought a sample pack whilst in Hamilton for my son's hockey tournament. The beer poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is non-descript. The taste is nicely balanced and easy to drink there is a slight floral hop presence that makes this beer interesting. Overall it's a good beer and worth a try.

The best from this brewery IMO. Muskoka's beers are all tasty but IMO they all have the same hop profile. The cream ale has the best balance because the slightly sweet malt balances the dry hops. Their detour beer is the most interesting in that it leaves a very dry mouth feel and somehow gives the dryness to the noise too almost like the scent of wasabi. The cream ale balances it out though and makes it more refreshing.

That said the thinkness of the cream ale makes it only good for a couple pints, after that it becomes too much as it leaves a flippy feel in the mouth. I find a lot of beers that way though so when in doubt go to a place with a large tap selection and make your way around it :)

Above my expectation. Great cream ale. Maybe a little more hoppy than your average cream ale but it's for the best

Pours a hazy golden body with some nice soapy head. The scent has some hoppy sharpness to it, though in general the scent is quite subtle. The taste has some light hoppiness, though there is really no malt in the background to back it up. The feel is nice and velvety as a cream ale should, though altogether the beer is a bit of a weak entry in my books

Poured from one of the new Fangled repurposed/recycled cans -- bare tin with a glossy sticker overtop methinks.

Overall -- Far too hoppy for the style.

I'm pretty sure the can itself caused lots of off notes including, if you can believe it, plastic and glue. Repugnant.

Disappointed to say the least.
