Classic Belgian Golden Ale - very Duvel. Shares that “too easy to drink” character. Impressed by Muskoka.

Golden filtered with a little carbonation and 5 fingers of off white head.
Smells of bubblegum, coriander, a light sweetness, and melted pineapple jello.
Lightly sweet and filled with chalky bubblegum, coriander, vegetal notes like romaine lettuce, and a slight belgian endive bitter finish. Some belgian phenols as well.
Medium, syrupy body, with little carbonation.
Got this in Waterloo, drinking on Walkers Point, ON, Jan 25th, 2018. In deed different, but rather like a love child of a kristal weizen and a Belgian blonde ale.

Not a fan of herbed beer, although I think the idea is really cool. Glad to have tried it but will stick to the regular stuff

Serving Type: 473 mL Can
L- Pours a hazy burnt orange colour topped by a 1/4 finger white head. Poor rentention. Light lacing.
S- Very appropriately, the aroma of this beer is floral, almost botanical/medicinal with a Belgian touch; orange and coriander.
T- Initial taste is very reminiscent of a Witbier: Orange and coriander up front; what follows really distinguishes from other beers I've had. The finish is very botanical (like a gin) with juniper and heather very prominent. Very interesting indeed.
F- Medium body and low carbonation. Not sure what I expected here, as I've had very few herbed/spiced brews, but the combo seems to work well with the flavours here.
O- I should say up front that I'm really not a fan of "herbed/spiced" beers, but I did enjoy this one. Lots of interesting flavours and aromas, but not necessarily a beer that I would want to drink more than one of in a sitting. All in all a good beer that I'll probably pick up again in the future.

A: Semitransparent pale gold yellow. Just slightly hazy with a light covering of head.
S: Faint with a little bit of a peculiar funkiness. Perfumey and floral, there is also some indiscernible fruity yeast.
T: A nice full rounded flavour, a good amount of punch but not overbearing and certainly not too bitter. Slightly sweet with a warming balance of perfumey hops, toasty malt, and peppery alcohol/yeast.
F: Medium light carbonation, I'd prefer more. Very smooth and drinkable, just a touch drying.
O: Great beer with an interesting taste and certainly some interesting unusual ingredients but I'm not completely convinced that it's the one that I've been looking for. This brewery seems to put out some great beers though.

Pours a medium golden, hazy body with about a quarter inch of white soapy head that quickly fades. The nose brings on light yeastiness, as well as some herbal peppery tones, anise, and a distinct touch of juniper. The flavour is noticeably medicine-like to start, as it branches out into citrus rind and juniper berries, leading into a bitter, though refreshing finish. Very smooth and crisp for the higher alcohol, showing a well-thought out balance of ingredients and not just another mish-mash of strange sounding ingredients. Thumbs up again, Muskoka.
