12oz bottle from Trader's Joe. Pours golden with a soda like head. Looks like soda in general. Aroma of spoiled blueberries and some sugar. Medium, crisp body. Taste is blueberries, sour apple and sugar, some hints of hops. Drinkable and goes down easily after a soccer game

I love the blueberry taste to this beer. It's a light and smooth beer. The aroma was very pleasant and improved the taste. I ended up buying another 6 pack after I finished the first pack. I totally recommend anyone to buy it if you like fruit beers.

Ah yes, the brewery of many names. Kennebunkport, KBC, Federal Jack, Pugsley Brewing, etc.

Light golden yellow with a thin head and watery lacing. Filtered and clear. Shouldn't wheat give it super head retention abilities?

Not too artificial smelling and, as I believe that there is no real way to get fruity flavors in ber from fruit without adding extract, this one does a decent job of not being to candy-like, though still pretty sweet smelling. If you swirl it good enough you get some yeast aroma with a little bit of hop earthiness, but you really gotta shake the sucker.

Medicinal and plastic-like, the blueberry flavor morphs from off-brand candy to off-brand cough syrup. There is a little 'real' blueberry taste at the end when it mixes with the light toast character of the malt bill. Is the bitterness from hops or the "natural flavoring"?

Light, crisp and sharp. Carbonation is closer to a ginger ale than a wheat beer for me.

Eh, it's a cheap wheat beer. I think I bought a single bottle a la carte for a dollar at the local liquor store. I'm always disappointed in fruit beers and yet there isn't one that I won't try.

12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass.

pours a clear amber tone with a finger, finger and a half of puffy white head that dissipates fairly quickly; decent lacing though. nose is malty, wheaty, and blueberries, although some of the blueberry aroma has an artificial note to it. flavor follows the nose; no big surprises there. i'm reminded of the cereal boo-berry. slight bitterness to the finish. light-bodied and crisp mouthfeel, if somewhat watery. it's not a bad beer, especially if you're into blueberry wheats, just a bit lackluster for my money.

Bought at Trader Joe's part of a mix pack... $1 a beer
12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.

A: Clear Golden with a hint of orange, about a finger & 1/2 of head that settle to nothing.

S: Sweet blueberries aroma and not much else... but I like blueberries.

T: Just like the smell... blueberry flavor right up front, a touch of wheat at the finish.

M: Light bodied with good carbonation.

D: Not a bad little blueberry beer, the ABV is low and you could drink this all day. Good summer beer if you like fruit beers.

A - beautiful amber with constant carbonation and miles and miles of head that disappear rather quickly

S - Malt with a strong hint of blueberry tart

T - Same as the smell with a bit of blueberry sweetness

M - about the same as carbonated water

D - Though relatively drinkable as far as one's likelihood to become intoxicated, The taste would get old too quickly to make a good session beer.

12oz bottle picked up at a local trader joes. best by date says september 2010. drank from a standard pint glass.

A- this one pours out a translucent straw colored body with a very small bright white head that fizzles away before my eyes. little to no lacing left behind. Lots of active carbonation bubbles.

S- faint malted wheat is the main thing here. a little bit of a metallic twang. very faint fresh blueberries.

T- the taste is loaded with that metallic twang that i could smell. the malted wheat comes through. the fresh blueberries i could barely smell are back and stronger tasting than expecting.

M- very thin and watery. way too much carbonation. it stings the tongue.

D- one and done for this one. not really a beer made for people that love beer. the weak flavor and cheap price tag would probably appeal more to the BMC crowd.

A- Very pale light brass color, very little head, no lacing, no cap.

S- The blueberry aroma that comes out pretty strong as you pour, disappears very quickly, just a trace of blueberry, probably a sugary syrup of some sort was used, based on the character of the aroma, seems fake and unreal.

T- Blueberry up front, no discernible wheat texture, tastes like blueberries in a bud light, very odd. Very mild malt with some diacetyl finish, bubble gummy texture and flavor on tongue.

M- Very highly carbonated, light texture, no real body at all.

D- I wouldn't want to have another of these, tastes like cheap blueberry syrup, added to a pale lager.

Picked up a 12 oz. bottle at the local Trader Joe's. Twist-cap, poured to a pint glass, 'best before' notched at: 'M(ay), (20)10'.

A: Moderately clear golden, the faintest haze cut by a modest bubbling. Head is a boring 1/4 finger of whitish cream, dwindling to a film without ever quite fading away. A little lace, hanging in droopy bands

S: Aroma is 'blueberry', and by that I mean the sweet and sugared kind that's placed as a shriveled nugget into cereal and called 'blueberry'. A bit of malt/sweet grain, otherwise it's a artificial-smelling fruit mess.

T: Unlike the aroma, blueberries are secondary behind a mushy grain/wheat. Porridge-like, a bland representation of 'wheat', and flavored with a less-sugary, more-earthy blueberry essence. Not awful, but not very tasty either.

M: Weird thinness, light body with a hanging fruit/malt. Far too thin, has an oily/slick feel that's unappealing. Refreshing? Not really. Gas-inducing? Yep.

D: My try was intended to see what certain brewers are producing; thank god TJ's sells as a single. Not worthy of anything more than a 'curiosity' taste; one I won't return to.

I enjoyed this beer from the comfort of my own living room. From the 120z bottle to a standard pint glass. Best if drank by March, 2010.

Appearance: Pours a shade slightly darker than straw yellow with a decent bubbly white head that didn't last long.

Smell: By far the best part of this beer. Nice smell of blueberries. The smell was better from the bottle than the pint glass. It all seemed to leave pretty quickly.

Taste: Flat. Pretty shocking considering this beer had an alleged shelf life of another 7 months. No taste of blueberries.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied and crisp.

Drinkability: Difficult. Besides the initial smell and the crispness of the mouthfeel, this beer did not have anything else to offer. Probably the worst beer I've reviewed. A real let down after being at a great beer festival 2 days earlier.

Never seen this beer or heard of Kennebunkport before. Decided to give this one a shot. Here is the review:

A: Pours pretty much like a macro lager. Clear golden yellow. Lots of carbonation bubbles. Little to no head.

S: Artifical blueberries. Some sweetness. Maybe a touch of wheat. Thats pretty much it though.

T: Probably the best description is Fruity Pebbles breakfast cereal with a touch of blueberry flavoring. Sweet overall. Nothing offensive, but nothing great either. Pretty weak overall.

M: Light bodied and very fizzy. Again, very similar to macro lagers.

D: Well...drinks easily, but definently not something I would drink more than one at a time of. Overly sweet and artifical tasting. Just nothing worth while.

I don't mind fruit beers for the most part, but this is about as marginal as you can get. No complexity or character to speak of. Just very plain. Don't get me wrong, it is a drinkable beer, but just not up to the craft beer standards.

Served out of a growler bought from Whole Foods into a standard pint glass.

A: light golden color, negligible head, not lacing, very clear

S: intense blueberry aroma, almost smells sweet

T: powerful blueberry flavor at first, ends up with a sweet aftertaste

MF: light body, moderate carbonation.

Drinkability: for a fruit beer, not bad. the blueberry aroma and flavor really stand out. it would be good with a blueberry muffin or pie.

Ok, being totally honest, this is probably the best way to make a blueberry beer. If you like blueberries, or fruit beers you might like this.

It is crisp, pours a nice gold color, has blueberries in the smell. The taste is crisp with a lot of blueberries in the exhale. It's not overpowering... well... okay to ME it is overpowering but in all honesty I don't think they over did it. I just personally don't like blueberries.

So. In short if you don't like blueberries this is not for you (duh, I should have guessed that. I think I would have preferred it a bit heavier, not quite so clear and crisp, maybe a bit of belgian influences would have brought this beer into a new level of appreciation.

hmm. I'm not sure whether or not I like this beer. it's done in the wheat style. So for color, it's gold colored and perfectly clear with a low white head no lacing.

Smell is strange, I can smell the alcohol and maybe a solventy smell? Not much blueberry smell, it smells to me a bit fake.

The taste is of blueberries, but more of a blueberry pie flavor. There is a nuttiness coming from the wheat malt, so that's not bad.

I could use more body and more head, personally, so the mouthfeel took a bit of a hit, which is odd, I've never noticed that trait so much.

It's drinkable, but then I'm a blueberry addict so fake or no I'll still drink it.

Presentation: Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle into a standard pint glass. Label depicts a suspended barrel, surrounded by hops, barley, and blueberries. Best by March or April 2009.

Appearance: Pours with 1 finger of big bubbled, soda like, white head. This settles quickly to almost nothing, just the thinnest ring of white around the glass. The beer itself is pale yellow, completely clear, and shows moderate activity. No sediment in the bottle.

Smell: The aroma of blueberries is intense, you pick it up as soon as you crack the cap. Unfortunately, it smells fake, almost candy like. Blueberries? Yes. Real blueberries? No.

Taste: Artificially sweet blueberry flavor.

Mouthfeel: average carbonation level. Body is decent.

Drinkability: If this were intended to be Kool-Aid, I would give it high marks. But as far as beer goes, not so good. No malt backbone. No wheat twang to offset the artificially sweet blueberry. Easy to drink, but not good.

Pours a clear golden-yellow. There's very little head and no retention and also, no lacing. A strong fruity aroma (blueberry -duh) and a slightly odd wheat smell (too much like a wet dog). Tastes strongly of blueberry with a little of the clean lager. I think it was over-carbonated. Overall, not bad but that slightly odd smell put me off this beer.

bought at Trader Joe's UCIrvine

looks: head gradually goes from 1.5 inch to nothing. light carbonation. clear. light amber.

smells like Smirnoff Ice Blueberry. bad memories. but realistically, it smells like some artificial or concentrate flavours going on.

taste: kind of tastes like light beer, with a very light blueberry aftertaste.

mouthfeel; leaves my motuh kind of dry with that blueberry aftertaste

drinkability: though it is pretty light bodied, i think that blueberry flavour would haunt me if id rank too much. moreover, i jsut dont feel satisfied drinking it

verdict: judging by the clarity and smell, I would bet money that blueberries never touched this beer...and whatever form did is quite some measure removed from the actual fruit.

i wonder how a blueberry beer could work...either something along the lines of lindemans or maybe a hefeweizen would work best. this bland crystal wheat beer (though oddly dark) does not do the trick.

upon some research, this 'could' be the same as Sea Dog Blue Paw Wheat: it appears like its a contract brew

Pours a crisp crystal clear golden and just from pouring into the bottle i got some huge blueberry wafts. I'm in for it!

Aroma is incredibly intense blueberry muffin and some light fresh graininess.

I'm not a huge fruit beer fan, but have been impressed in the past month with a couple killer fruit beers. This one tastes like a liquid blueberry muffin, with the malt profile being light and sweet cake like.

It's not overly sweet or anything, and the hops and bitter crispness put on a good show. It's plenty drinkable, and perhaps just a bit over the top on the berries, but not enough to ruin it. Overall quite a tasty beer, and i'd recommend anyone pick it up for a try if they see it. Picked mine up at Trader Joe's. There's a good chance this brew was contracted just for them?

Taste: There is a very strong blueberry flavor to this beer. It is somewhat tart as well with some minuet hops tones.

Mouthfeel: I Thin and flat for the most part.

Drinkability: An alright beer to sample maybe it would be nice on dog day.

Golden color with active and heavy prickle. Wispy foam in the center of the surface. Blueberry nose. Celan attack with a faint blueberry flavor. Clean finish. Mild character of a wheat beer. Closer to a wheat than a "blueberry" beer in my opinion. I was surpised to learn that this bottled beer I found at a Trader Joe's in Woodbury, MN had come from Federal Jack's pub (or at least the same parent company) as my father always raves about Federal Jack's after his vacations up there.

Appearance: The pour is a rich golden color topped by too small of a head for a wheat beer.

For a fruit beer to work, it must meet two criteria. The fruit can't be fakey-fake and beer has to taste like a quality beer. This one delivers on both.

Smell: The nose has a mix of fresh blueberries and blueberry jam in front of soft wheat.

Taste: The flavor profile is blueberry muffin. As I let it sit on my tongue, the muffin flavor fades away, evolving into a blend of blueberry jam, a floral component, lemon zest, and mild wheat. The latter is nice, but it's not as delicious as the blueberry muffin element.

Mouthfeel: It's light to medium-bodied with soft, but lively carbonation.

Drinkability: It this the best beer in the world? No. Is a blueberry muffin beer fun to drink? Yes!

Appearance: Copper body, zero head, light carbonation.

Smell: Actually quite pleasant. The blueberry is present without being overwhelming. Soft undertones of wheat.

Taste: Pretty flat. Fruit comes in at the end, otherwise akin to a light beer on par with Bud Light (shudder).

Mouthfeel: Light and sharp. Aftertaste reminds me a bit of a blueberry flavor Pop-Tart.

Drinkability: Easily drunk, easily forgotten, easily passed over next time for something with more character.

A: Golden color with very little haze at all (filtered wheat?). Strong 2-finger white head that is sure to go fast with all the bubbles I see floating to the surface. 3.5

S: Blueberry smell is strong, reminding me of blueberry pie or ice cream. Earth, lager spice aroma pairs nicely with the sweet blueberries. 3.5

T: Despite a strong bb smell, the flavor is much more subdued. Arguably, the blueberry is lesser here than in the Sweetwater blue. Wheat flavor is very mediocre with zero notes of banana or clove. Oddly, the blueberry tastes somewhat fake, like the freeze dried blueberries in a bar of white chocolate I ate recently. 3.5

M: Less texture than I would expect from a wheat but a nice summer feel. Too bad the taste lingers flatly and dryly on the tongue. 3

D: I am not particularly blown away by this beer but I am happy I tried it. I could see it being quite refreshing after mowing the lawn. 3.5

Trader Joe's has become a bit bereft of notable brews, as they continue to push their stuff. I bought a bunch of Kennebunkport beers just to try them out.

Pours a light golden color. Foamy white head. The mouthfeel is disturbingly thin and overly carbonated.

Wello, it certainly has some blueberry to it. There's some wheat backing, but the beer smells and tastes like a carbonated blueberry beverage. It definitely isn't that drinkable over the long haul with such a one-note, definitely non-beer flavor, but for a one shot deal it was refreshing.

Let me state up front, I love blueberries, so it doesn't shock me my review might be way on the high end. Picked this up at the Santa Fe Trader Joe's (their beer selection is starting to suck)

Pours peach tea color with 1 finger of white head. Below average lacing & head retention

S: Much blueberry & tartness

T: Blueberry jelly & lemony hops up front. Blue berries mellow out as this warms, along with honey malt. Finishes with a strong blueberry kick (reminds me of canned blueberries with sugar)

MF: Lively carbonation & light bodied

Drinks okay after 1 I was ready to move on. My wife dug this, I could do one on hot Summer's day or with dessert.
