Bottle, pours dark, dark brown with a thin watery head. Nose is some roasted malt, vanilla, faint dark chococlate, faint oak. Acrid, tinny roast in the mouth, all metal and old burnt coffee grounds. Sour, almost. Heavy carbonation. I feared something was wrong after I saw the head and bubbles behaving strangely. Bad.

poured into a tulip.

a pitch black beer. held up to the light, I get some slight ruby hues. About 1 finger of khaki head that dissipates quickly.

Aroma is somewhat faint but I'm getting some roasted malts with a little oak and booze. The smell isn't really impressive IMO

kinda boozy for the ABV. Slight roasted taste and some coffee notes in there. Pretty weak, just like the aroma.

medium bodied. Lost carbonation quickly so it's kind flat now.

Just an average porter IMO. Limited availability and kinda expensive for the taste. LP is my hometown so I had to try it but this isn't really impressive. I'd drink one of someone bought it for me, but that's about it.

Poured from 22oz bottle.

A- Pours a near black color with reddish hues showing when light hits it. One finger beige head shows poor retention. Light specks of lace on the sides of the glass with each sip.

S- The aroma is very weak to say the least on this beer. Roasted malts are in the front with a hint of coffee underlying it. Backend of the beer is the same light roasted malts with oak. Alcohol comes through and tickles the nose in the ending of the aroma.

T- Taste like the aroma is very weak. Roasted malts come through with a light hint of vanilla before fading in the middle to more of a coffee like flavor. Ending of the beer shows a little barrel note with lots of roasted malt to cover it quickly. This roast dies almost to nothing at the tail end of the beer and muddles with a strong alcohol flavor.

M- Medium light mouthfeel. Carbonation was a little low for the style I thought. Light roast left on the palate. Aftertaste was mostly warming alcohol notes and hitn of roasted malt. Flavors while being as light as they were seemed to be put together well. No off flavors were detected while drinking it. Medium alcohol drying on the palate with each sip.

O- This was a rather weak offering from Back Road. The flavors and aroma were just a little to light for my liking. The alcohol on the backend was a little to upfront muddling the backend. If the receipe was to get tweated I think I might be down to try this one again.
