This is probably one of the few things I miss about state college. This was the mecca of the start of my craft beer consumption. Of course they have macro, they have to cater to their demographic. But the sales they have on craft is amazing.

I've bought cases of summit for $15. And their are tons of seasonal crafts on sale. It makes me wish I was back..

The best beer distributor in central PA period. They do not mess around. Seasonals are on sale and prices to move when the next batch of seasonal beers arrive. Good people too, the owner is generous with his high end beer enthusiasts and knows how to treat real beer lovers! I drive 20 miles past three distributors to buy here...nuff said

Located along the western outskirts of Penn State's campus, Nittany Beverage is a full-service case store.

Quality: Drive through and walk-in service is available. The store has a compact shopping area, most of the goods are in the warehouse behind the store. The website also has an up-to-date listing of available beers, along with prices.

Service: Running both a drive-through and walk-in store, the staff is friendly and responsive. They also stock full-service keg systems, perfect for their location.

Selection: The selection hits heavy with the macro lagers of the BMC persuasion but there is enough craft to keep me coming back. Sierra Nevada, Smuttynose, Founders, Sly Fox, Ommegang, Lancaster and Coronado are just a few names that you'll see. Prices are good, aiding the strong selection. If you're interested, they advertise a Chimay Cinq Cents keg for only $186.

My 2nd favorite beer store in town. Really good selection of things. Some nice folks. I don't like that you have to order from the board and not see what your options are ... I like being able to check for dates, see how much of a given item remains, etc. But that's me. The drive-thru is nice though. They've often been helpful beyond the call over the years, talking about things they are getting in soon, being willing to do some special orders, help with tap system parts, etc. I used to use them far more when I lived in town (& before Pletchers moved in), but I still stop from time to time and am never unhappy about it. [Selection years ago much more daring, and probably not worth doing -- lots of interesting things that would be worth trying, once, and no more ... think of the amount of space wasted over the years on an aging inventory of things like that? no wonder things are now a bit more predictable but solid. Just saying.]

Pretty decent place to buy beer in bulk. I'd agree with others and put this as the second best distributor in State College, behind Pletcher's.

Quality- I've bought a lot of stuff here over the past year or two here, and I've never had a bad batch of anything. That includes both craft brews and domestic macros. Everything always seems to taste as it should.

Service- Excellent service. Employees always come right out to your car to see what you'd like. If you don't know, you can always go inside to check out their selection. After you make your purchase, someone always carries it out to your car for you. Good stuff.

Selection- Pretty good selection for a PA distributor. Most of the usual macro swill, along with a half-way decent selection of domestic micros. They do have a pretty good selection of imports though, ranging from some Allagash and Ommegang to Ayinger and Sam Smith.

One good thing about this place is that they always have specials (check the website, listed below and at the top of the page). Sometimes they're quite ridiculous. In April, I picked up a case of Sierra Nevada Bigfoot for only $24. That's what I call a steal.

Coupled with pretty decent prices, this is a pretty good distributor to go to in State College. However, I usually go to Pletcher's, especially now that they carry Stone. Yay!

PS- You can check out their website, Nittanybeverage.com to see their selection and prices.

This is one of the few places to get beer in bulk in State College. On any given day and especially on the weekends, you see cars lined up as salesmen walk up to your car and get your order down.
Kegs, kegs and more kegs. This is where to get them. I'd have to say that 1 of every 2 parties in state college(and there are plenty) have a keg from this place.
They so also sell cases, and have some decent stuff, but the price might be a little steep.
Also, because underage issues are a big deal in happy valley, a laborious siging out policy in enforced. And of course, taps, kegs and bucket rentals can all ad up. All in all this is a great place to buy your keg adn other party needs, and if you don't mind paying premium prices, you can get something a little better than the typical college keg swill.

This is an average beer distributor. Fast service, great turnover, no-nonsense. There’s drive thru service, so you don’t even have to get out of the car if you don’t want to. I prefer to go in and look through their display of microbrews. The selection of micros is not that big but they consistently get a new variety of different beers obscure to this area. Prices seem to be better than WR Hickey’s, the beer distributor on the other side of town. Its biggest draw is how near it is to the campus and more importantly the off-campus student housing. I stop by there occasionally, but otherwise Pletcher’s gets the majority of my business.

I'm editing this review to lower my rating of their quality. Again, I bought case of beer, my standard Victory HopDevil, and later discovered it was already a month past the "enjoy by" date. Dumbass me had already taken a bunch with me to see some friends, or I probably would have returned the case, more out of principal than anything else, because the beer didn't tast like was really affected too much by the age, possibly because it's stored in a refrigerated warehouse.

Probably the second best distributer in State College, after Pletcher's. Have some pretty decent stuff, like Yards, Sierra Nevada seasonals, Rogue, Sammy Smith, Brooklyn, Victory, etc. Not a really great import selection, but there are a few good ones. Service is usually fast, but not always friendly. Prices are pretty average here. For its location, near the center of town, I forgive it these flaws and shop here relatively frequently. There is a covered drive through so you don't even have to get out of your car if you know what you want already. I have not had a problem with old or stale beer here that I can recall. Guess thats a benefit of being located in the middle of a college town.

They have drive through. They have a price/selection list inside. They have great prices. They have great service. In my opinion it is the best distributor in state college. Harpoon, Saranac, I had alot of (purchase wise) 1st try, and ther is no one better in the area for cases. And they are always wearing PSU jerseys. I would go on and on about the place, but to save everyone the time - go to the website, and revel in its glory, go there, see what I mean -REVEL IN IT!
