For a 'budget beer' from Aldi, this exceeds most cheap beer in taste. It has some bitterness but not too much, but definitely drinkable, especially when one considers European beers, sold in Britain, such as Carlsberg, Amstel and Löwenbrau, which have their alcohol content (and this their flavour) de-rated for the 'UK market', are priced higher.
Why should anyone in their right mind pay for Carling or those other tasteless beers when you can have this?

Bland and generic but cheap as chips. Supposed to be dry hopped....I really can't tell to be honest. Bit refreshing but unexciting. Feels like it is lacking life: bit stale.

This is a fantastic highly drinkable pils. Similar to the darker styles available from obscure breweries if you ever venture away from the city’s of Czech Republic. It’s not the lighter ‘Peezwazer’ style that many become aquainted with in the 70’s and 80’s. This is the type of can to give to your snobby know it all craft brew friend telling them it cost £2.50 a can, who will love it until you tell them it’s made by Marstons for Aldi stores at £2.30 for four cans! I’ve noted some saying they can’t taste much hops. If you can’t taste hops in this beer then I would seriously consider getting your tongue checked by a specialist.
