A: Golden but a bit darker than Bud. Not much head

S: Smells a bit bready but it is inviting

T: again like the smell, a bit of bread, a bit nutty. Not a half bad change of pace from American macro lager.

M: Crisp and clean. a bit of a thick feeling when all said and done that is not felt at the start.

D: This has a odd after taste that when I Finnish of the big bottle I want a change of pace. Something to try but maybe not a full time drink.

Appearance – This one poured a clear, light orangish-yellow in color with a nice medium head that showed good retention and left a film on top of the liquid.

Smell – The malt and sweetness is about even here. The grain is a bit rough around the edges but not offensive. The sweets are fruity as opposed to sugary.

Taste – The sweetness picks things up at the taste. The grain is in the background here. I don’t particularly care for that balance but it works in this case.

Mouthfeel – This one is damn near medium-bodied with some moderate carbonation.

Drinkability – I generally have low expectations for the style. Having said that, this one wasn’t bad and definitely one that I would buy again.

Large 500ml bottle with no best before date. It pours a brilliantly clear straw gold body that's capped by a creamy bright-white head that holds fairly well before dropping to a decent collar and some whispy surface foam. It leaves some lace at the start of the glass, but less and less as the head diminishes throughout the glass. It has a firmly medium body that's accentuated by a fine-bubbled and moderate carbonation; leaving it only lightly crisp, and even somewhat creamy in the mouth. The nose delivers a gently sweet and mildly grainy malt along with some herbal/floral hops. The flavor is as the nose would lead you to expect with a mildly sweet malt that's well-entwined with floral/herbal hops and supported by an understated bitterness. It's well-balanced towards the malty side and finishes semi-dry with a touch of sweetness. Overall, a pretty decent European lager that exhibits no flaws.

It's Polish beer night and EB is first up. A very pale lager (pils?) that pours with fluffy white head that quickly diminshes to some soapy-looking bubbles. The aroma is of cereal grains with a dash of spicy, herbal hops. This is a very light-bodied beer with a fairly crisp maltiness up front which fades quickly and turns lightly bitter metallic finish. A crisp, light lager, that is refreshing enough and quite cheap.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. The pour is a golden yellow with miniml amount of white foam.

Smell is light malt with hints of grain/cereal.

Taste is clean, crisp, with a light corn taste. A touch watery. God/average carbonation in the mouthfeel.

Very drinkable tough - not the best taste, but still enjoyable.

BBD: 3.17.2010

Brilliant gold, a finger of standard foam results from a good pour. It fades too quickly, leaving the orange glinting liquid to look more like cider than beer. No lace.

Beery aroma, husky grains with an initial skunk that blew off quickly. Vague malty sweetness and crisp, dry finish. A little paper and apple bite. This is a session beer of course, and it's very snappy and dry as a euro pils should be. "Rich and full taste" on the label is a bit of a stretch, but it's decent.

Light but crisp carbonation, very light and refreshing, just not big on flavor. Simple and straightforward, clean with no off flavors. This would make a decent backyard bbq party beer, but it's nothing too exciting.

It appears there's a duplicate listing for this beer, as they were bought out by Zywiec/Heineken at some point. My bottle is identical to the one pictured, it just says "product of Grupa Zywiec" on the back label.

Bottle: Poured a golden color lager with a medium head that disappeared a tad too quickly. Aroma of malt with some very subtle sweet floral notes. Taste is quite bland with some average sweet malt and no hops that are easily distinguishable. I can’t believe that this is a pilsner – I would never had guess from drinking this below average beer.

To my utter surprise (I'm not much of a pilsner man) I really enjoyed this beer. Came in a brown 500ml bottle with the freshness date stamped on the back. It has one of the oddest logos I have ever seen, all things taken into consideration. This is a Polish pilsner, and yet the crest above beer's name contains what appears to be a kangaroo and an ostrich. I'm afraid to ask why....

Poured out a very clear pale golden hue, very light and inviting, as opposed to looking light and watery. Mild carbonation, big foamy white head that lasted for some time. Sweet malt and floral highlights on the nose, and the flavour has a great balance of the two, very crisp, I found it very refreshing and easy to drink. I'll definitely be going back for more of this.

Pours transparent yellow with a foamy white head that after a short while becomes barely a few bubbles - hardly even a lace.
Nothing offensive in the smell. Faint, but clean. Some malty character in the nose.
The taste is very average for a euro-lager. Typical euro-lager - nothing powerful or outstanding. Some hop taste. A bit on the sweet side.
The mouthfeel clean and refreshing, but nothing beyond that.
It is drinkable - even refreshing, but nothing that makes me want to have more except maybe as a refreshing drink on a hot day, but there are so many other beers that would do the same with more character and flavor.
Something in its defense is that I have had this on a few occasions and have never run across one that had any of the skunkiness of many other macro euro-lagers. And, at least it is in a brown bottle.

Nothing about this beer is disappointing...It is a winner and I will quaff it anytime..
Colour is light and clear, limited crown, almost non existant, aroma is very crisp and pleasing..
Taste is well balanced, almost a light and the body is light/medium.
My compliments to Elbrewery..

Pale golden yellow with a thick, coarse head that ebbs to a cloudy film. Smells floral and hoppy. Taste is clean and crisp, I'd say hops balanced by yeastiness and ends with some bitterness. Bit of white bread dough somewhere in there. Carbonation perfect. A good session beer.

11.2 oz bottle, just past it's due date, should be ok.

Pours into my Stawski mug a honey-golden color with a big bright white head, slightly soapy looking, which quickly recedes with not much lacing.

It has a distinct smell, with a big hit of pale malts that are lightly sweet and some herbal, medicinal hops as well.

The taste is decently sweet with a mild bitter hop bite. It is pretty standard.

The mouthfeel is a bit off, that could be due to the age.

Overall it is a run of the mill Polish pale lager, not bad but not amazing.

Pours a white one-fingered head that faded quickly leaving little lace. Clear amber color. Medium carbonation and light bodied. Starts with hints of hops and malt, finishes with some bitterness. Good summer beer. $2.10 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, Ma.

Poured from a bottle with a expiry date of May, 06

Looks like a pretty standard lager, a bright yellow with some evident lacing. Smell is very organic, fresh and natural, Pretty nice. Taste is clean with evidence of an adjunct, for some reason I think it's oats but i could be wrong. It's pretty smooth going down and pretty easy to drink. This is a nice beer, worth having again.

A boring export lager. Pours out to a light golden color with a head of cotton like white foam. Aromas of hay and grass. Taste was uneventful; light malts, dirt, grain, watery hops. Mouthfeel was a step above carbonated water. Not much going on, and it shows. Drinkability is fair. This isn't anything worth seeking out, but if you're a fan of the style, it may be your ticket.

--Poured a nice, llight lager like color, with a nice full head. It did lower into a slight foam but nothing to complain about.
--Smelled good, with a floral and sweet smell.
--Taste was what to expect from the smell. It had a nice sweet taste that I kind of was not expecting from a lager from Europe.
--Overall I was very pleased with this beer. It came in a nice large bottle and I could drink a few before the night is over. A good beer.

I’ve found that most Polish lagers have a decidedly sweet, dough-like quality. This one stick solidly with that pattern. Smells very much like an everyday euro-lager…hops, grassiness, a little malt, a touch of sulfur. It’s clear and golden with a good, attractive white head. The taste is bready and sweet in the front, with a good dose of bittering hops in the hind-taste for balance. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s drinkable and certainly fits the mold.

The beer pours a pale gold color with a thin white lace head. The aroma is decent. It boasts of pale malts and lager yeast. The taste is average. It is light and watery. It is slightly bitter and skunky on the finish. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a low bodied beer with good carbonation. This beer isn't any special. If your a fan of lagers you might enjoy drinking this, but I don't so it's one and done for me.

The flagship beer of Elbrewery (better known as EB) was rather unimpressive to my tastebuds. This brew seemed just like the other dime-a-dozen cookie cutter European lagers.

EB poured a bright yellow color with a thin foam head that disappears rather quickly. As soon as I opened the bottle, skunk hit the air. There was some graininess and huskiness present underneath the skunky aroma. The mouthfeel was of the standard thin-and-fizzy variety for macros. The flavor was somewhat harsh and grainy, with some corn notes showing up. A citric hoppiness shows up, but the brew seems a bit unpleasantly dry and bitter. The skunk does affect the flavor as well, making the overall tasting experience none too pleasant. Some dryness, bitterness, and graininess linger on in the aftertaste and the brew concludes with no alcoholic warmth.

This was similar to Heineken (even without the green bottle). Nothing in this brew is alluring enough for me to give it another try.

Best before: 10/10/15. 5.2% ABV per the label.

Pours a clear light yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, earth, grass, and slight corn flake aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, corn flake, earth, and grass flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is drinkable, but fairly boring all around.

Serving type: can.
