This is the 5th Anniversary Barleywine and a fine one it is!
Pours a deep gold with a wispy white head and a sweet, fruity aroma. Thick and sticky mouthfeel reveals an English style barleywine with an intense, flavorful, fruity character. Noble hops in the background to complicate things and intensify the malt flavors. Tons of caramel and toffee in the forefront, but kept in check by a subtle, citric hop bite. A winter warmer for sure.

Orange amber beer with a moderate head. Actually a quite impressive head for a barleywine. It displays excellent retention and leaves a sheeting lace on the glass. The beer presents a strong roasted caramel aroma, with a touch of burnt sugar. Just a faint whiff of hops on the nose. Then the taste whacks you with Cascade hops out the wazoo! Once you get through that, a strong malt background pushes through with a balancing sweetness. Citrus lingers on the finish, like sweetened grapefruit for breakfast. Mouthfeel is good but not syrupy, lending to a very good drinkability. An excellent barley wine.
