One of FD's best, classic APA, especially creamy head and body.

A) Lasting, dense rocky head over clear amber orange body that fills glass with lace. *best looking APA!

S) Nose of aromatic hops, bit of spicy hops, grassy, light malts.

T) Taste grassy and spicy hops, ample bitterness on a light malt base, bit of bitterness and sticky in the finale.

F) Mouth is creamy, medium bodied and carb.

I might up this on the way back!

Got this in a growler from Elkton; an easy to drink amber ale; with a very nice head, that stays

355ml bottle poured into a pint glass.

Mildly hazed in body which turns out to be clear thereafter with amber orange in color and one finger of creamy off-white head, it slowly recedes with pretty good retention before collapsing to an eternal bubble sheet on the surface and leaving some lacing patch and spot here and there, high visible carbonation.

Mild floral hop in the aroma with a touch of grass, some citrus and lime, malt is here to shine with its bread, grain, buttery, sweet, caramel, and some toasted profile.

Malt is also prominent in the taste providing its bread, grain, toasted biscuit, sweet caramel, and some buttery note like in the aroma. Hop is just a complement with notes of some earthy and grassy, citrus, lime, and slight resiny bitterness. All the hop flavors seem to be much bolder when the beer starts to warm.

Medium body with rather smooth mouthfeel and some lively crisp carbonation to cater all the things well inside the palate, finish is dry and rather clean. Decent example of APA, however, still there is a lot better than this.

A- Pours a toasty deep amber red from the 12oz bottle into my tulip. Atop the beer a one finger, frothy white cap forms. Good head retention and lacing is composed of large thick webs.

S- The grains take precedent by just a bit with a fair hop presence backing them. Toastiness comes to mind first with slight caramel, cereal grains, sweets and yeast bread leading into earthy and herbal hops. A slight bit of citrus in there as well.

T- As the aroma certainly suggested, the beer takes on a balanced flavor profile that strays just a tiny bit over middle ground into the malty side of the spectrum. Toast, nuttiness, slight caramel without awkward sweetness, cereal grains, bread and freshly cracked barley lead off. A mild hop profile of earthy, herbal and spicy hints rounds it out.

MF- Light bodied with a puffy and frothy consistency. The carbonation is very high and crisp. Finishes just little bitter.

A well brewed Pale Ale that will get you both your malt and hop fix bringing balance to the table and slightly leaning towards the grains. These were a lot more common five years ago and this one brings you back in a good way.

From a bottle in a nonic. Fresh one by date. 2 fingers of foam, okay lacing, nothing to really get excited about. Nose is like a watered down Stone IPA, which is not a knock for a plain pale ale. Taste is smooth and easy mouthfeel. Could drink several of these, but not something I'd go overboard on.

Had on tap at some restaurant in Frederick, MD. I'm giving this mid to high 3s across the board because that's truly how this beer looks, smells, tastes, and feels to me: good, solid, but ultimately not anything particularly special. The color is a pale orange-copper, the smell is simultaneously malty and citrussy, the taste is pretty much the same, without having either side shine or taste very notable to me, and the feel is medium bodied. It's good, but I think Flying Dog has better options.
