-160A15.

A: Viscose, dark hersey chocolate pour with a thin, bronze creamy layering atop. Micro-bubble effervesce creeps up along the vessel walls. Thin, washy lacing.

S: Light amounts of dark chocolate, semi-sweet, cocoa, with a touch of vanilla and marshmellow. Aroma is faint, with a decent length of hangtime.

T: Dark cocoa, chocolate and a warming of chili pepers for flavor. Hints of coffee, cinnamon, dry vanilla creamer on the fade and finish.

M: Light-medium body, some bubbly texture.

O: Average amount of chili heat warming, decent amount of cocoa-chocolate base and a good mid B enjoyment and drinkability factor.

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

Nearly pitch black, beautiful tan lacing. Smells of cinnamon, chocolate, chili peppers, faint coffee, & a hint of black currants. Smooth and creamy, a little prickle of the taste buds from the cinnamon and chili peppers. Waves of dark sugar and chocolate but not all that sweet, just lots of depth. Good use of extra flavoring to bring the brewer intention to life. Flying Dog should stick to these drinkable "extreme" beers.

Severly under-rated. I have had a variety of mexican stouts, and for an offering from a brewery that isn't known for such brews this is an excellent effort.

The smell and the taste of this beer are phenomenal, it is really only brought down by the relative thinness of the beer. It also lacks the big beer look of brews like CC Hanapu.

If you can get it, try it.
