Supertramp - Tart Cherry AleSupertramp - Tart Cherry Ale
Notes: Debuting (and stretching its legs) in spring 2015, three years of R&D went into the recipe for Supertramp. It was inspired by two previous Brewhouse Rarities releases: Sour Cherry Ale and Black Lager with Cherries.

Not my thing. The pinkish hue was a sign of things to come. Not really tart at all. Just a lot of cherry and a relatively thin backbone. Like a cherry infused tea?

This is absolutely terrible. Undrinkable.
I have absolutely no idea what they are trying to do here.
This made me angry and sad. :(

After 800+ ratings/reviews, my first 1/5 rating.

Bad.

Looks exciting as mentioned. A totally clear, rose color.

Smells of struck matches/fireworks. Kind of horrible really. I don't mind aggressive brews either, nor the smell of matches. However this shows they don't belong together in a glass.

Unusual corny taste primarily (beyond the match smell). Some evidence of tart cherry. However, it seems like the vast majority of cherry has been stripped away leaving only the tartness; which is very evident.

Feel is nice and light, very refreshing, good for summer.

Sadly the taste and smell are just way too off from what it purports to be.

Beautiful looking beer. Looks more like a sparkling wine...kinda pink and clear with nice carbonation. Smell is very sulfuric with hint of cherry. Taste is very light, slightly sweet cherry and grainy. A tad dry in the finish. Not very tart or sour like I thought it might be.

Overall this is very light easy drinking cherry fruit beer. Its very light and subtle. It's not a Gose and its not a Berlinner. It actually makes for a great summer drinker or gateway beer for those coming from the flavorless BMC products. Nothing mindblowing but fine for a light beer with subtle cherry flavor.

disclaimer, not my usual style. While I like Belgium brews and sours, this is a fruit beer as billed. Decent golden with small white head, fruity nose and flavor, thin mouthfeel. Not overly sweet or fruity but lacking substance. Cherry flavor is muddled, somewhat citrus like.
