On tap into a pint glass. A clear copper orange color with minimal head and wispy lacing. Faint bready aromas with some floral notes. Mainly bready malt up front with Some cracker and biscuit. A fairly large hop presence with moderate bitterness and floral notes. Medium bodied and clean on the finish.

From the far right side of the label: "FOR OPTIMAL FRESHNESS ENJOY BY: 01:17:" then there is something that looks like either "18S" or "13S"

Appearance: The body is a dark amber-brown color that is transparent enough to see through. The head is medium sized, off white, and creamy textured. It has good head retention with spotty lacing.

Aroma: There is a light floral and herbal hop aroma with a touch of a hallmark lager scent. It has a light aroma of caramel.

Taste: It has a big caramel flavor up front which isn't characteristic of most Märzen. There is some herbal, noble hop flavor and a light touch of alcohol. There is a light nutty flavor to the beer.

Mouthfeel: It is medium-full bodied with a smooth texture and a wet finish. It's a satisfying beer to drink.

Overall: The flavor profile is more caramel and less toasty than other Oktoberfestbiers, so that is one thing to consider before buying the beer. The beer is well made and it is likely to appease any malty Oktoberfest lover. With the numerous options on the marked it is unlikely I would pick it up again but it was enjoyable.

12 oz bottle poured into a pub-style pint glass.

Appearance
Rich amber color. Short head dissipates quickly. Good clarity. Moderate carbonation.

Nose
Caramel, nougat, butterscotch, and caramelized brown sugar.

Taste
Caramel, nougat, caramelized brown sugar, toffee, and butterscotch. No distinguishable hoppiness, just enough to keep the malts from being cloying.

Mouthfeel
Medium-plus bodied, smooth, silky, and sweet.

Overall
Very malt forward. There's no apparent hop flavor. A slight boost in hops could help with the overall crispness.

Pours a clear, light brown color with a tight, quickly fading beige head that leaves little to no lacing.

Smells of toasted malt mostly.

Tastes of the toasted malt layered with a touch of hops. Malts lead off with notes of caramel, toffee, and toasted bread. This gives way to a bit of dark fruits and sugar. Hops add towards the end with some earthiness. Finishes fairly clean.

Mouthfeel is medium with a slightly crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a pretty good oktoberfest, but doesn't do anything to stand out.

Poured into a half pint glass: color is clear amber, head is off white to light tan and presents about 1/2 inch thick then dissipates to a ring, no lacing.

Smell is toast, very feint munich malt, touch of caramel, earthy bitterness.

Taste is light toast, some munich, hints of caramel, stronger bitter note.

Mouthfeel is crisp, a little strong feel, lingering bitterness.

Overall a good oktoberfest, fairly clean, a little bitter/over crisp finish.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a shaker pint.

Pours a nice, clear deep mahogany color with a finger of off-white head. Solid retention and lacing on this one.

The aroma is very faint, but about right for the style. Lots of bread, some caramel, with a faintly spicy back end.

The flavor is...not right. At all. There's some faint hints of caramel malt and sweet bread, but it gets obliterated by a strong metallic flavor that feels like I'm drinking a robot's semen. Finishes spicy with a strong vegetal note. Not pleasant in the slightest.

The feel is medium-light bodied with moderately high carbonation. About right for the style but that metallic flavor just sits on the tongue and won't go away.

Overall, a very poor marzen lager that had potential, but is ruined by off-flavors and a weak aroma. Not worth your time.

Clear dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has caramel, burnt sugar and some dried dates. Taste starts slightly sweet with caramelized sugar and some generic dried fruits. Finish is balanced out by some earthy bitterness. Light body, medium carbonation. Overall it's a nice beer, not a classic marzen, and I like that.

From Labirratorium. In Teku glass. Playing Electronic Super Joy. Full of biscuit notes. Not as refreshing as typical german marzens but thicker and very pleasant too.

Just when I'd Had enough O-fests until next year, I found this.
Dogtoberfest's best part is its looks, a nice reddish dark amber. Otherwise average.

Pours a clear, mahogany color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and good lacing. Smells of sweet malt, caramel malt, slight pale malt, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of a Marzen / Oktoberfest. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, caramel malt, slight pale malt, and a hint of hops. Overall, decent appearance, aroma, body, and blend.

Look: beautiful amber, just off-white stable mainly fine head
Aroma: nutty, caramel, fresh baked bread crust
Taste: follows nose with some bitterness, nice maltiness but not so refined as in the aroma, a bit coarse
Feel: appropriate body, a bit fizzy but fine carbonation
A very nice Oktoberfest that would be great if carbonation and taste would be a tad gentler.
