Notes:
A potent snakebite of Citra, Mosaic, Warrior, Simcoe, and Columbus hops (more than 2lbs per barrel) gives this beer its citrus-forward superpower. Orange and tropical fruit aromas temper slightly-piney crispness, turning Snake Dog into a more complex breed of West Coast IPA. You’ll find Snake Dog bites hardest when paired with peppery cheeses, curries, and mild Thai dishes whose names you can’t pronounce properly.

I’ve had so many IPAs that unless it has a uniqueness about it, it just blends in with the rest of the noise. This one unfortunately just blends in with the rest. It’s not bad, it’s definitely serviceable, but not one of the best either…

-clear amber-orange can pour with a 1 cm foam cap that dissipates quickly.
The aroma is faintly resinous.
The flavor is pine-forward.
The finish is clean.
This is a pleasant brew, possibly my favorite from this brewery.

Large tan head atop a clear amber body leaves very good lacing. Pungent citrus and resinous hops lead off the aroma with a wee bit of fruitiness if you inhale long enough. Citrus hops hold sway on the palate, but with sufficient sweetness to help balance things out. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel, with a bitter, lingering finish. Personally, a very satisfying offering; consistent quality, affordable, and something I can easily find on tap or in the bottle.

This is an OK beer - the hops, both in the nose and on the tongue, have a bit too much of the coniferous, resinous tone (I prefer citrus tones).

L- Dark gold, pours with a tiny hint of haze and zero sediment in the bottle. Pours with 2mm white head; holds pretty well and forms lacing.
S- Oh boy, prominent fruit cocktail going on here. I especially get citrus.
T- Quite dry on the front and right into citrus peel, somewhere over the grapefruit part of that spectrum. Then there is a perfumed note that is akin to lychee.
F- It's pretty dry but not a 'hop-bomb' as some contemporary/fashionable beer can be. It is greatly helped by having something of a solid ABV% that moves it towards balance.
O- It's hoppier than I would usually got for, so not one I'll be buying again. But it's interesting to try and I'm sure for many people, perhaps esp younger ones this should be something special.
330ml bottle. £2.89. Bought from BeersOfEurope/UK for home delivery. BB: 19/05/2021.
*Written before reading the bottle's lable or other reviews below. Ie my review is independent and now I have the fun of seeing 'how well I did' vs how others describe it :)

Pours light copper with a one inch head, which dissipates quickly. Moderate lacing. Aroma is strong -- citrus, pine and floral hops. Taste is citrus at the start with piney, dry finish. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, with 7.1% ABV. I like this one -- another good IPA from Flying Dog.

Clear light amber, dense white head, good retention, rings of lace
Lots of grapefruit, pine, and slight dank in the nose, a bit of sweet malt underneath
Caramel malt flavor along with some grapefruit and pine hop flavor.
A little sticky, would like more carbonation.

Snake Dog has it's weaknesses, but taste is not among them. It pours a shallow copper without much head, although it's highly carbonated. The draining glass gives no witness that there was ever a beer there. That trait is more than compensated by a bitter hoppy aroma quite pronounced at the top of said glass. This one is hop forward, hop midstream and hop lingering. None of the stages are overly bitter, at least to a hop head. A bit of the 7.1 % ABV is noticable, but it wouldn't be fair to deduct points for that.

Not so good, but admittedly that’s probably because I snagged this one online and when it arrived I noticed with horror that “Enjoy by 10/22/19” was printed on bottle. Too old! Oh well, had to try it. Haven’t had this brewery’s beers in years and wanted to start recording them. Pours an amber color that was rich and vibrant, great fluffy white head and small rings of lingering lacing. Very nice. Aromas of malt, caramel, vanilla, biscuit, some odd muddled fruity and piney hops. Tastes similarly, but unfortunately so much of the hoppiness has faded that it was just predominantly malty sweetness that persisted. Disappointing. Smooth mild, slightly thin mouthfeel which fell a little flat with carbonation as the beer warmed. Not bad, I’m just certain it would have been a whole lot better months ago.
