Ok, fairly decent looking beer but I'm not getting the normal citrus notes on the nose. My wife thinks it smells like a Blue Moon. I'm smelling some maltiness, nothing sweet. This has a good beery taste with some? sort of bitterness. Here's the odd thing, this tastes pretty good but I'm thinking it's more of a APA. It's quite carbonated (burp) and somewhat thin. Good beer but not what I'm expecting from an IPA.

Perfect head level, inviting colour...brewed in US...nice bottle, cool design with a picture of the snake dog...

Aroma is as good as any beer, apricottey and hoppy.

Really good IPA, would buy again. Not as strong and full on flavour as the best ones though...

Copper colour, lots of carbonation and a modest head of foam that quickly sinks in, though the surface remains covered. Fresh smell of pine and grapefruit, but a bit subdued. Taste is not really IPA, more like a fruity (peach) belgian blond. There is also not a lot of hop action in the finish. The mouth feel is medium and a little less carbonation would have been nice. All in all not an unpleasant drink, but I would have rated it higher if they hadn't labelled it as an IPA. Hop heads will probably be disappointed in this one.

Copper filtered with minimal carbonation, topped with two fingers of yellow beige head.

Orange, stinky foot, pine.

Orange, pine, grapefruit, corn syrup. Light bitterness on the end. The hops are pretty muted.

Medium light body, slightly high amount of foamy carbonation.

Got on wishbeer. Tastes like an English IPA, and if it were I'd rate it higher. Hops are lacking in this one, so I'm a little disappointed. Drank in Chiang Mai Aug 13th, 2016.

Pour is a medium golden-amber with medium head that leaves some bits of lace. Nose is on the sweeter side, with biscuit and malt as well as some hops. Maybe a bit subdued. Taste follows with a firm malt base and a softer bitterness. I usually like this style of IPA because it is more well rounded than a straight hop bomb, but this one was just average.

Poured into small chalice: color is copper, head is off white with medium sized bubbles, nice lacing of head on the glass.

Smell is very feint, notable pine hop aromas, hints of citrus rind, and maybe some biscuit.

Taste is bitter, raw grain profile with hints of biscuit and caramel; hop bitterness is piney and citrus rind but a bit harsh in presentation.

Mouthfeel is bitter, a little harsh and strong on the tongue with dry finish, carbonation seems moderate - the raw flavors seem to overpower through the mouthfeel.

Overall, a muddled IPA, harsh grains and harsh bitterness.

Draft at Manalù. Hazy copper body with small tight beige head. Leaving coats the glass. Temperature (ice cold) mutes the aroma. Hops kick in at taste with an astringent bite, and finishes bitter. Malts hidden behind the hops and temperature.

Solid IPA but not something to write home to mama about. The packaging is fun but ultimately the taste has to bring me back for a second tasting. Thumbs sideways.

Pours a slightly orange amber body with thin but sticking white head
Aroma is grapefruit & sparkling white wine
There is some of that in the flavour
It's clearly diminished but has developed a nice bitter finish
I think this is about three months old and past its best at that but still good stuff

From a bottle, beer is a somewhat hazy orange with a half-finger of cream-colored foam. Smell is mostly some sweet toffee malt. Taste is malty with some tart, lemony citrus. Bit of bitterness on the back end. Feel is kind of thin for an IPA. A decent IPA, certainly enjoyable.

Comes out somewhere in between yellow and light orange. 1/2" white head. Aroma had a little bit of hops, a little bit of alcohol heat.

Taste hits some bitter hop notes and a sturdy old school crystal malt bill. Would be even more bitter without a mild undercurrent of toffee and caramel sweetness.

Cool artwork, average beer.

Pours a hazy amber/orange with a fading head. The smell is not too strong, with hop and citrus hints. The taste has subtle grapefruit with relatively high bitterness. An easy-drinking IPA, nothing stellar though.

Clear orange body, single bubbles rise, white head that sadly fades to a skin. Nose is orange peel, biscuit malt. Flavor adds grapefruit, but a bad raw grain/whole wheat bread flavor persists along with pine, which doesn't work well. The citrus fruits are close to being tasty, if pretty bitter, but that poor choice of malt establishes it firmly outside of yumtown. Feel is pretty standard; medium body, slightly syrupy, assertive carbonation.
Nahhhhh. Too-intense citrus, distasteful malt, weak head, this gal was a mess.

Poured from can into pint glass. Pours an amber color with a thick khaki head and some nice lacing. Smell is really not much of anything, pick up a little pine and a little burnt butterscotch, honestly smells like a scotch ale. Taste is pretty hop forward, piney and bitter, but it has an aftertaste of.... As close as I can describe it is soy sauce. Overall a little heavier mouthfeel than most ipas.

L: Poured into a tulip glass. Great pour, thin head that quickly dissipates. Bronze-gold in color, not quite hazy but certainly not light.

S: Faint hoppy smell that I expect from an IPA. Not too much else going on. Maybe a little pine.

T: Hop madness. Thats the driving taste power here, the hoppiness of the beer. But its not so much that it detracts from the secondary floral tones and little citrus. Fruit flavors emerge as well, but are at risk to get lost in the herbal hoppiness. Tastes great though, despite the lingering bitter aftertaste.

F: Surprisingly light mouthfeel. Comes on strong but leaves a distinct crispness.

O: Solid IPA. Really good for hop lovers. Has some definite flavors to add to the hops, mostly floral, but the main draw for this brewski is the hops.

Beautiful pour - a mostly clear, just slightly hazy golden orange with a healthy, fluffy white head. Aromas and flavors are of light biscuity malt with herbal and slightly floral hops; not a ton of complexity. Mouthfeel is a little thin and under carbonated, but creamy. Overall, an average IPA.

Color: amber, clear. The head of white, fine-bubble, very long time does not change its size.
Aroma: sweet fruits, mango and pineapple, blood orange beside them, in the background with soft caramel and a little resin.
Taste: mango again plus a bit of sour oranges and lemons.
Gentian: dry, grapefruit, on a slightly spicy finish. Saturation average.

Pours amber, hazy with a very mild white foam head, almost no retention. Aroma is hoppy and sweet. Taste is very well balanced, not too bitter. Medium body with low carbonation. Nice IPA:

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a soft hazy ruddy amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated fairly quickly.
The smell had a slight toasty malt coinciding with a light earthy to citrusy bitter hoppiness.
The taste was moderately bitter with a light sweet caramel maltiness about it.
The mouthfeel was about a light to medium in body with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation hits my tongue appropriately.
Overall, good enough AIPA, slightly leaning towards that old school styled AIPA. Still worthy of having again.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a small pint (like) glass. Poured a little foggy with yellow and amber highlights. Nice foam head that disappeared after a couple of minutes. Extra strong bitter hops taste. Also grapefruit albedo taste. The strong bitterness also lingers as an aftertaste. It is hard to consider the mouth feel with such a strong pervasive flavor. Overall the beer is called snake dog and I assume they wanted a beer with a sharp bite, but the beer lacks any balance and does not have a unique hops flavor. I like the brewery, but this beer almost defies categorization.

Thanks Ted.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy burnt orange to ruddy amber color. A one finger white foamy head dissipated immediately. Light lacing sweeps nicely in rings around the edges.
The smell had a bittersweet lemon zest to citrusy blend over a delicate caramel and grassy hops.
The taste followed the nose nicely adding a light little bready kick in the aftertaste. There's a dry finish.
The mouthfeel had a nice sweet sticky feel allowing it to sit about a light to medium on the body. It has a good drinkability to it.
Overall, this is a good AIPA that I could have again. Nice to try.

Pours a clean orange color, with a fluffy, bubbly head.

Has a lime topped dankness to it, defined by wild flowers and wet hay, coated up by a resinous note. The hops evolve additional depth, by revealing passion fruit and orange zest, which results into an almost perfume like blend. The nose comes beautifully together, outlining zappy lemon all the way, with just a whiff of cakey malts to balance the hops.

Drinks close to creamy, while a lively carbonation adds bubbly refreshment, catapulting a unique hop profile on the palate. Turns a tad slicker during the finish, due to prominent malts, which then get absorbed by a slightly metallic minerality.

Convinces from the get-go with a great interaction between dough bread, mineralic qualities and leaf supported lime juice. This first impression builds the beer's flavor foundation, convincing by its intriguing balance and silkness, which gets replaced by a luscious lemon bitterness, enhancing the hop presence with a pungent bite after the swallow. Shortly before that, the malts produce a well developed, cakey quality, which gets almost completely swept away, as the hop bite exhibits a tremendous, lime defined dryness. During the finish, there is an earthy quality coming from the malts, which gets very well along with the long lasting, lime infused hop aftertaste at the very back of the palate, again with a soft minerality to it, preventing the beer from becoming too slick.

Been drinking this for several years, and it is still one of my favorites. Aromas and taste complement each other perfectly, creating a bright, citrussy hoppiness, which gets gently balanced, while the beer remains its beautiful mouthfeel and complexity.

Me and my bro picked up a nice cold variety pack of Flying Dog. This review is centered on the Snake Dog variety which is 7.1% ABV and is an American IPA.

Look-It pours a clear amber color that reminds me of orange blossom honey glazing a hot buttered biscuit straight out of the oven. The head is bready and foamy and lingers a short while. The lacing is sticky and sparse.

Smell-It smells of biscuit malts and citrus hops, but there is something different about this one that convinces the taster that it is unique. It has a quaffable characteristic and is definitely a bit piney, but mostly floral and citrus lemon.

Taste-It tastes of bitter floral hops and a grassy note that lingers among the lemon and orange peel zest. The malt base is delicious and perfectly well-timed. I get buttered biscuit and mealy malts with an oily base. Grapefruit and lemon as well as a true grain malt base grace the bulk of this beer. It is delicious and refreshing and slightly more bitter than most beers which is a nice change for once.

Mouthfeel-It is medium-bodied and refreshing. It does have a bit of a bite from the hops and the alcohol, but is tampered nicely by some subtle malts. The alcohol warms the body as the flavors linger on the tongue. I get a lingering taste of alpha acids and bitter hops that coat the tongue.

Overall-I don’t know why this review has had so many negative reviews. It is a true American brew with a color that is reminiscent of the “Amber waves of grain”, but morphed into liquid beauty and drinkable deliciousness. Cheers!
