Flying Dog Brewery "Peach Cobbler Ale"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, "...ENJOY BY: 02.18.18"
$2.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Nice head of off white, a finger-thick and rocky. The body is a mostly clear deep golden/amber. Plumes of tiny bubbles can be seen rising. The aroma is lightly peachy. I can't tell from the label if they've used real peaches or not, but it doesn't seem artificial. The flavor brings in some toasty malt, and just a touch of vanilla. Where are the spices? I get some spiciness in the flavor, just a general spiciness, and there's more in the finish but there's nothing really specific, maybe cinnamon but I'm not sure. It's well balanced with a moderate bitterness that allows the spiciness to do some of the work of drying the finish, and it's not really that sweet to begin with. Medium-light in body and very gently crisp then smooth across the palate. Some of the peach flavor lingers in the finish as well. And looking back, the head has dropped but still maintains a solid surface covering, and the lacing is impressive. Overall it's nicely done, although I wish there was a little more peach to it.

A: Medium burnt orange pour, little head or lacing.
S: Peach cobbler spices of course, more peach, then pleasant hops and malt.
T: There is a whole lot of peach going on here with a mix of savory spices.
M: Light bodied, good carbonation.
O: Good execution on a unique flavor. I'd drink it again for nostalgia's sake, but I don't think I'll buy it again.
