12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Very small head, very hoppy.

Not smooth at all; very bitter. Strong piney and fruity taste; essence of orange rind and grapefruit present.

If your looking for a big taste in an IPA, then this is an option. Not my favorite though.

12 oz. bottle [poured into a tulip glass.

L---Deep copper. Thin white head that dissipated quickly and left no lacing.

S---Piney. Seriously hoppy.

T---Pine & hops from the nose are clearly present. There's also some serious balance presented from the malt side of things. There's some caramel and bread as well. There's a touch (maybe more) of bitterness, that some might object to, but that I find quite good for the style.

F---Definitely heavy (it's an alcohol bomb after all). Carbonation is light. Feels more like a barleywine than an IPA.

O---An excellent dipa. Strong, but not without its subtleties as well. I'd definitely go for another if I was at home. I'd be careful if I was on the road.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tumbler style pint glass.

Clear and deep copper in the glass. A thin off white head hangs for just a couple of minutes before fading to a
thin film.

A weak nose features only faint citrus zest. A fairly heavy and bitter double. Taste is mostly bitter zest with some heavy caramel and alcohol, not boozy but it definitely has some heat. The sharp bitterness builds as I go. Not bad but not for me.

Tried my first in a tulip glass. Was hoping for a lighter, crisper feel. This is somewhat heavy with a lingering, bitter aftertaste. Not a smooth drink. Somewhat harsh. 11.5 ABV, but not boozy at all. Not a bad IPA, but I've had better.

I enjoy IPAs, including the double and imperial variations. Unfortunately, this one was not for me. Way too sweet (did the sugars finish converting?), throwing it out of balance and proving itself unworthy of the alcohol content.

Can't remember the previous time that I opted to stop drinking an IPA half way through, but that clock got reset today..

Alcohol....that is the one attribute of this beer that sticks with me more than any. It has a very strong aroma and the taste of alcohol is slightly overbearing. The the other underlying tastes amd aromas in the beer seem to be good but it is hard to decipher because the taste of alcohol is so mu h in the forefront. This beer is not for the weak of taste. I like it but it is best savored, at least in my case, in small amounts.

Poured into a pint glass. Moderately hazy golden-amber color with a modest off white head. Not much retention but some laces left in the glass. Bright orange and grapefruit zest on the nose with some caramel malt. The taste was big and bitter citrus. Mainly grapefruit with a bit or orange rind. Seriously bitter with a slight sweetness from the high ABV and the malt, which seemed well balanced. Slightly waning but not boozy on the finish.

My beer of choice! Nice golden in color with a half finger of foamy head. Aromas of sweet malt and light citrus, refreshing. Tastes are of citrus with a good amount of alcohol feel, though not too much. Overall, feel is extremely decent, a touch of welcomed roughness around the edges, nicely bitter, but relatively clean on the finish and citrusy
